Cause ur smart. I probably should have used an apostrophe as in 'cause, but I had a busy day in front of me with the garden, making gazpacho, helping a neighbor with her computer and other things so in a hurry I dropped the Be and didn't add a ' as I didn't realize this was a test. Not to sound haughty but I suspect this is just passive-aggressive "payback" on your part for me having pointed out the "magic number" problem you were having over in the baseball thread, so way to go Goody. Um...huh? Stick to your limited understanding of what slang is [or, in this case, isn't] and practicing the appropriate use of the apostrophe....it is fairly obvious you don't know much about psychology, either. Geez...try to help a guy out and you go sideways on me. Fine. Whatever, Dude. I was just trying to help you be a better communicator/writer. Pardon my sensibilities. Yeah, those creme based bottles can get mighty funky with age (hence the original poster's distinction of what he had in the fridge). My dad has a bottle of snake wine that was a gift while on a trip to China sometime in the early '80s. It's one of those things that tasted so awful when it new no one is sure if it's gone bad. I tried another little taste last May. I didn't think any damage was done, but now I think the slang part of my brain may have taken a hit. Now that's funny

Amazing coming from the man who doesn't believe that added strength makes a batted ball fly further. The human physiology behind batted balls is obviously not your forte, huh. No. Wait! We've already established that fact. My bad! Strength does not equal home runs anymore than proper dental care makes you a dentist. [i'd write that down if I were you, Dan....just a helpful hint.]

what are you drinking right now?

I am, as well. Hot, black and in a cup. -
A "cause" is an event due to the result of some specific thing which happens. It's not a conjunction. And you're welcome. Wow, a grammar flame! Is it 1993 and am I on alt.fan.organ-trio? It's slang you nitwit. No. No, it isn't. "Cuz" would be slang. It wasn't a flame either. It is my business to know these things. Just trying to help you look more intelligent is all. Carry on.

No problem. It happens to all of us from time to time. Personally, I'm just out of the loop TV-wise.
-
Good point. Still not interested.

Truer words were never spoken. Conan is a waste of time. The incredibly and insatiably myopic NBC corporate greed heads need to be taken out and [collectively] slapped. I call dibs.
-
Mad for Mad Men? M'kay. TBH, I make it a point not to watch shows/movies where men are the central focus. Call me spoiled.

Welcome back, MG.

Can't argue with that, Dan. That's what I'm hoping for....GO Angels!
-
Personally, I prefer a deep snifter of Brandy or a well made Port. A fine Cognac or Bourbon/Scotch will do in a pinch....so will a Cream Sherry.
-
No doubt about that, but I'd say it's a toss-up now...before this past series, I would have given a betting edge to the Angels. I'm still going with the Angels. Lot of emotional stuff wrapped up in this one.
-
Oh, I think the Angels will be ready and plenty motivated and will be a tough out for the Yankees should they meet in the Playoffs.

Once again for clarity...here is the post I reacted to: No mention of the Phillies and I was talking about the Marlins, Dan. Scroll back for further clarification. An easy misunderstanding, no big and who cares?

Drive 250 miles to the North, Matthew. At 10PM it'll still be 90 degrees. Our low is 71. The beach isn't that far away from your house and the afternoon sea breezes take care of the rest. Count your blessings.

I don't follow Eastern baseball teams, Dan. Never have. I live in California, OK? This would be comparable to me asking if you could cook authentic Mexican food [which, I seriously doubt] then making a snide remark about how you can't. My guess is you don't even know what REAL Mexican food tastes like. Taco Bell isn't even in the ballpark. Hence, my point about not knowing what JH's WFC means to you Easterners. I took a guess. I was wrong. Sue me.

Wild F***ing Card, too. Makes sense now. Thanks, Jon. I don't speak fluent Philly.

This was the post: No mention of the Phillies here.

M'kay. If we can still count the Marlins in, then....the Giants WC "magic number" is 4, too. How much is left in that bottle of wine you're drinking? Different divisions, different magic numbers, throw in the wild card it's another matter. For the Rockies the Wild Card magic number is 9 over the Giants, at least as of 7:42 Pacific Time. Same WC, Quincy. Right now: Rockies Giants 5 Braves 5 Marlins 5.5

M'kay. If we can still count the Marlins in, then....the Giants WC "magic number" is 4, too. [Give it up, JH....Rockies are going to take it. They play nobody but tomato cans until the last weekend of the season; the hated Dodgers. By then LA will be playing an all Triple A squad to save their starters for the playoffs. Sorry to burst your bubble, big fella.]

Just don't light up a bahzillion times a day. Personally, I limit myself to three-four cigars a month, max. Breathing this shitty air is far worse.
-
While I can't argue with your personal experience, your statement isn't logical and it runs counter to my own experience. How "cool" a cigar's draw is depends on the amount of outside air contained in the smoke. The more outside air, the cooler the draw. The length of a cigar has little to do with this, but ring size is important. The larger the ring size, the more area there is to bring in outside air. Hence, a 52 will be "cooler" than a 44 (measured in 64ths of an inch). Smoking a torpedo cigar (one with a tapered end) is supposed to further enhance the coolness of the draw. Good point. I had fogotten the ring size is a part of the whole picture and really, I should have known better. I tend to smoke a lot of Robustos or Robusto Largas with a 52-54 ring. Specifically, the Punch Gran Puros and Perdomo La Tradicion Golf. Thanks for the reminder.
