  1. 7-1, Sox. Bottom of the 8th. Uh...paging Skeith. Tell me again how far off I was...can you, please. I just live for that.
  2. Beats the hell out of freezin' butt snow, doncha think?
  3. Good luck finding somebody willing to manage for an asshole owner in the New York fishbowl filled with spoiled fans who whine every goddamned year they can't win the World Series. You think about that, Quincy. I say, "Fuck 'em."
  4. Just under 70 here. Low 40s tonight.
  5. Jimmy Jones Sarah Vaughan Vaughn Monroe Earl Monroe Carl Monroe Marilyn Monroe
  6. Add my name among the well wishers, Chris. Glad you're here and I'm glad you were born. Happy Birthday, my friend.
  7. Nike Golf products pretty much cover it all, I think.
  8. A very happy birthday, Chris! Hope it's a great day for you
  9. Warren Berger Earl Warren Earl Hines Earl Weaver Earl "the Pearl" Strickland James Earl Jones
  10. Looks like Joey is zeroed in on that blonde on the left. But that was the Rat Pack image and he played it off well.
  11. Back when I lived in Orange County, California I worked at a bank near Lido Isle in the Newport Beach Harbor area. Joey's wife used to come into the bank all the tme as did Buddy Ebstein or his wife. Seemed like nice enough folks, but with Joey's passing it definately puts a period at the end of an era. Old Newport Beach was a special place. Sad to see him go.
  12. Tiger Woods is my son's golf hero....so I have bought for him several Tiger Woods related items.
  13. Of course it ain't over. However you're the one with the reality problem dude. You said the Indians would never get past the Yanks- then the Indians massacred them. You said Boston in 5, and with the Tribe up 3-1 ,you still think Boston is going to win even though one of their key players (Manny) doesn't care whether they win or not. What does that say about YOUR grip on reality? We did not say we have a lock, but it sure as hell is looking good - we only need one and have won the last 3. At least on this board, more Red Sox fans seems to be saying it is over than Tribe fans. In your Indians predictions, you are batting a whopping 0. Buddy, you are WAY over focused on the Indians. I said a whole helluva lot more then just that one item you keep harping on, OK? You're looking through the wrong end of the telescope.....see the big picture.
  14. Tribe fans need to get a grip on reality: It ain't over until the fat lady sings, Guys. The Angels thought they had it in the bag back in 1986 with a big playoff lead over the BoSox. Guess who went to the WS that year? It sure as hell wasn't the Angels.
  15. Another brilliant prediction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And so....I would be batting well over .500 at this point. My prediction supports a Red Sox victory and the Rockies have already won the NLCS. If I was a baseball player, I'd be making millions of dollars right now. Well are you still believing in a Red Sox victory? I take your point about batting over .500 - BUT it is one thing to predict a Red Sox victory, but you said in 5 games. Now it looks possible it may be Tribe in 5 - so one might say that when you are wrong, you are REALLY wrong, as in WAY OFF. You also predicted an easy Yanks victory in the ALDS - that was WAY OFF. Bottom Line : Don't mess with Cleveland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You learned nothing from the ALDS? ANd if we get there, we do not fear in the least the Colorado Rockies. Once again, missing one out of four isn't way off in the NL/ALDS, OK? And, yes, I think the Sox can still win it. Buddy....you are WAY over focused on the Cleveland Indians.
  16. Isn't that music coming from the Stadium not Fox? That's what I heard at the Jake the last time I went. Is FOX still broadcasting it....? no, the golf channel Um...huh?

  19. Joe, All that stuff [with the exception of the rings] can be replaced. You and your girlfriend can't. Glad you're OK.
  20. What pisses me off is that "Cleveland Rocks!" repeated refrain at every commercial break. I mean, WTF? Fox is supposed to broadcast the game not promote for a possible match-up between the Rockies and Indians. Such bullshit.
  21. Always reason for concern, but Colorado sitting on their asses is not going to help them. I expect either team team from the AL to be a tough opponent and I do believe it will be Cleveland. If it's Cleveland in the WS it's the 8th year in a row with a different WS champ. I hadn't thought of that, but you're right TBH, I think a Cle'lan vs Rockies match-up would be fun to watch, personally. Cle'lan has the pitching, Rocks have the hitting. Either way, it's all good.
  22. NL West, Rocks!
  23. The main problem in the NFL right now is that there are only a handful of teams that are any good. ... And Dallas is one of those teams, so there you go. The rest, frankly, stink. I've got the Sunday Ticket deal on the dish, and it's actually difficult to find one damn game out of all of them that's worth watching. The Patriots seem to be able to play football at a professional level. Dallas also. Indy, of course. After that .... what? This whole season boils down to this: Will it be Indy or New England that beats the crap out of whatever team stumbles into the Super Bowl from the NFC. All this talk I hear on espn about the Giants defense and Brett Favre and on and on, it's pointless. Those teams will not beat the Pats. No way. There are some baaaad teams in this league that are barely able to complete a pass. Yet another compelling reason why the salary cap must die: The unfortunate result just makes everybody mediocre.
  24. Now why the hell did they have to wait until after they played the Niners?
  25. I don't know about y'all, but my money's on New England. Buffalo exposed some serious flaws in Dallas overall game plan. It's New England's game to lose. Just ONCE I'd like to be right about something sportswise that DIDN'T affect my teams negatively. Last time I was right about something like this, the Mavs were swept by the Warriors in the first round. I could go ahead and predict the demise of the Stars, but that would be too easy. Face it, Guys. Dallas got whooped up on and by a team who actually faces real competition. The Ca'boyz are a paper lion.
