  1. Uh-oh. Looks like Dogs have picked up a two point lead. C'mon Cat owners, rally!
  2. That token should be a Fat Cat. I had one of those. When she was on her back, she looked like a bag o' fur with legs, tail and ears.
  3. Cool article. I just linked to the website. Thanks, Matthew!
  4. Our "main cat" is purring and nose nudging me even as I type. Good kitty.
  5. Me either, SS1. The best I can do is a mustache. My "beard" comes out in patches. Ugh.
  6. Random thoughts...? I teach teenagers. I have enough randomness to fill a library. Oy.
  7. I laughed for ten minutes over that one
  8. Cat owner here. I think cats are wonderful pets and I would own a cat over a dog anytime. So! Which do you prefer...dogs or cats?
  9. Good advice, Mike. I've used electrical stimulation for my lower back when I have tweaked or strained a muscle. It works like a charm for me. No worries there - I'm pretty certain I don't have a tear, just a strain. That is excellent news. And congrats on losing the 30 pounds, too. Something I'm still working on myself.
  10. If it swells or discolors...see the doctor ASAP. No kidding.
  11. Rest it. From my experience as a runner, basketball player, racquetball player and city league softball player rest was the only cure. Come back too soon and it will pop again.
  12. Hair? You've got hair? Are you trying to make me jealous? Well, most of it is still connected, white as snow, but connected just the same. I will, however, confess to a "proceeding" hairline; it's proceeding from the front of my head to the back of my head. Just like to be proactive in these things
  13. Nice to see the Lakers thump their old rival the Celtics last night: 113-99. That one was for you, Jerry Buss.
  14. Had haircuts but no shave at a barber shop. Now, my wife cuts my hair...like it?
  15. Well, if nothing else, you have to admire David Price's chutzpah: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/david-price-says-wouldn-t-sign-yankees-because-175723554--mlb.html
  16. Bochy's son is trying out for the Giants this week. As a Dad myself, that would be pretty darn cool.
  17. A sad day for us Lakers fans. http://news.yahoo.co...37942--spt.html Rest in Peace, Jerry. And thank you.
  18. They are definitely spending money like there's no tomorrow. I hope it bites them in the butt.
  19. Good point. The Giants are a perfect example of a team which is still stinging over that 7-year deal for Zito, that is, his last year's performance notwithstanding. I'm not a fan of multi-year contracts either. Especially for pitchers.
  20. I wasn't sure where to post this but it is still pretty amazing. Yao-Ming dwarfs NFL player JJ Watt: http://sports.yahoo....27419--nfl.html
  21. This is only a Wiki source, but it does list several 7-year plus contracts that have had a positive impact: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_sports_contracts
  22. Then why start a thread bitching about something you don't watch? I don't "watch" musicians record their CDs either, but I can still critique the content after listening. The Internet is full of Grammy video, ergo, the same critiques could be made. I thought that was made clear. My mistake. Yeah, for some they are located between the ears of those from that other website....I won't speculate.
  23. I dunno. Some very nice tunes have come out of Pop music over the years. Your picture, however, lends itself to Pop Culture...not quite the same thing. The absurdity in Pop Music comes from of the suits' desire to prepackage everything into some nice neat little promotional gimmick to make money off of the clueless minions of the musically illiterate. Trash sells if they put enough make-up on it...and they know it. Sad.
  24. Apparently, someone here isn't aware of this thing called the Internet...or newspapers. The Oscars are a close second, IMHO.
