It was a good non-call. The refs had been letting that go all game. It would have looked bad if they decided to call it there. Plus, it looked liker the receiver pushed off with a hand to the defender's face/hemet. Bullshit. If it was the other way around, you'd say the same thing? I sincerely doubt it. It could have gone either way. My first reaction was that it was PI but after seeing the replay with Crabtree pushing off on the defender's helmet I think he was guilty as well. But in the context of the game where, as you noted in your previous post, the refs where letting A LOT of shit go it would have been bad if they had called PI there after all the shit they ignored all game. Not too mention they would have opened themselves up to the whole "fix is in" argument seeing how a SF TD would have let them Niners cover the spread. Then, with all due respect, you weren't watching the same Super Bowl I was. This is not about covering the spread. It is about making sure a San Francisco team doesn't win and an East Coast team does. Win one for Lewis, the double-murder suspect. The refs were tampered with and even the referees acknowledge that because of the complaints as to who and how they got chosen. The game was fixed. Screw these guys. I know you're upset because your team just lost but to come on here and say that the game was fixed over and over again just makes you look silly. Take a step away from the keyboard. Relax. The Niners had a great season and they have a great shot at being back in the Super Bowl next year. Take comfort in that. I can deal with a loss, it is after all just a game. I have already acknowledged the Niners didn't play their best. What I cannot abide is blatant and obvious bias by the referees [hand picked in a way which other refs questioned] to purposely influence the outcome of a game. That, my friend, is unforgivable. It has been happening with regularity over the past decade throughout the NFL and I have had enough. The NFL is no better than the WWF.

The guy grabbed his freakin' jersey and bear hugged him to the turf. Helmet? You have just GOT to be kidding me. Then, with all due respect, you weren't watching the same Super Bowl I was. The "shit" they let go was ALWAYS Raven's shit. Watch the replays [assuming the NFL has the balls to release them]. It is OBVIOUS what was going on. If the refs were letting stuff go, tell me about that shielding penalty on the 1st play then.

It was a good non-call. The refs had been letting that go all game. It would have looked bad if they decided to call it there. Plus, it looked liker the receiver pushed off with a hand to the defender's face/hemet. Bullshit. The refs never made an important call since that shielding garbage on the 1st play of the 1st quarter. Think of it: Only TWO penalties on the Ravens? Gimme a break. They didn't call squat on the Ravens after that. But they sure as hell focused on the Niners, didn't they. The game was fixed. Now I know why the refs were pissed about who and how the SB refs were chosen. I think it is pretty damn obvious by now. Screw the NFL.
-
The Super Bowl was plainly fixed. Only TWO penalties for the Ravens. Slaps to helmet, no-calls on holding, unsportsmanlike non-calls, flagrant foul in FRONT of the ref, several times in the game and it all began with that ticky-tack penalty in the 1st play of the 1st Quarter on the Niners. I don't have a problem with losing so much as I have a problem with a pointless shielding penalty on the very first play from scrimmage which completely broke the momentum for the Niners. Sure the DBs and the OC Greg Roman messed things up, too. I can deal with that. But the refs wouldn't call anything on the Ravens from that penalty onward. The game was fixed from the first play. Tell me that wasn't a CLEAR holding penalty in the end zone on the last Niners play. Go on...tell me. Bottom line? I am DONE with the NFL. This is WWF for football fans and the Commissioner should be very ashamed...unless, of course, he's a part of the fix. I have watched my last NFL game. Screw these guys.
-
If the Niners can pull off a win with Greg Roman as their Offensive Coordinator, it will be a modern miracle. The guy is just strangling the Niner offense with running plays on passing downs. And the DBs need to show up at some point in this game or all they will win is a flight back to SF. GRRRR

Agreed.

Too funny, Noj. I laughed for ten minutes over that one

Um. Mostly wrong...? Sure. I guess that makes me a serial anti-tourist enabler. [oh, the horror]

I know a couple who go there every January. It's much cheaper to get an apartment for the offseason and since they're going to theaters & restaurants it's not like it has to be 72 degrees outside. If anything it's probably a better time of year to go than August, especially if you're going places that require some dressing up. I get you. But I'm willing to bet the ranch there are more tourists in NYC during the warmer months. Don't forget Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, and ECM! Bet your ass! No Texas, though. Only people who have never been think it's dangerous. Make up yer mind! If the antiseptic conditions detract from the game, why is it "ridiculous" that the Super Bowl will be held at Met Life Stadium next year? Or is this yet another weary, yet veiled (barely) dig at New York? Well, for one thing, the fans will have to brave the cold , too. That might affect ticket sales and hotel stays [eateries would suffer, as well]. What I don't get is why is California not a regular destination for the Super Bowl? The weather is reasonable, tourism abounds and the fans will most surely stick around for longer. Seems to me like a win-win. You mean tourism doesn't abound in NYC? I can personally guarantee that ticket sales, eateries and hotels will NOT suffer. It is the "center of the universe", after all. Get real, Tim! I guess you feel that all jazz should've been recorded in California too, huh? Fact is, without NY, all you guys would be discussing is New Orleans, Satch, trad jazz, Chicago, Dick Bock and all those Mulligan/Baker recordings. NYC has plenty of tourism...in the Sping and Summer. I don't know of too many folks who plan vacations or whatnot to the snowbelt in the Winter. Just sayin'.... As to Jazz, there was this thing called the West Coast Cool as I recall; it gained a fair amount of noteriety at the time. NYC is a wonderful place [so I'm told by my wife's side of the family] just too dang cold around Super Bowl time. Proof that ig'nance is not always bliss. Tourism exists here year round. As I stated before, makes sense to have a cold weather game in cold weather once in a while. Keeps it real. To be fair, nobody is dissing NYC[though California gets far more naive considerations, IMHO]. I just figure the NFL has it's reasons and the cold is probably one of them. No big. You just have to see it from a person who lives in a warm state's perspective. New Yokers are a far heartier bunch.

Scroll up. And your screed is an insult to English speaking and reading people the world over. This is way out of bounds and entirely false. Pedophile enabler...what gives you the right to pass off baldfaced lies like this? If you actually read anything I write you will not that all I have ever said revolves around the foolishness of foisting all PEDs blame on big-name targets. It does nothing to stop PEDs nor will it. As to the Penn St. reference, how you get "enabler" out of a comment from a guy who lives 3,000 miles away and has never met Paterno astounds me. Buddy, you have some serious issues, but I'm not interested in getting sucked into another pointless pissing contest with a guy who wouldn't know the truth if it leaped up and bit him on the nose. Good-day to you, Sir.

Don't forget - "fuck the French". I think the world already knows the truth: Lance Armstrong is the best ever. The French, however, will never back off on that hate Armstrong crap. And to quote Lance himself: "Fuck the French." It gives me absolutely no pleasure to say this, but I wholeheartedly agree. Funny how wrong you were then. About what? Lance Armstrong was the best. Period. Look, if everybody is juicing [Which is pretty obvious by now, let's be honest here once, OK Aggie?] then nailing Armstrong is only window dressing to placate the jealous French and pretend to the world the Tour de Farce is actually doing something to curb PEDs in the sport. It's all bullshit, Aggie. Admit it. Have we ever met? My "idol" is Miles Davis. I have no idea what you are babbling about beyond that. Stick to the issues, not petty personality attacks, OK? You seem to have a major problem in this area.
-
The cycling press needs to investigate everybody else and their PEDs use, too. So they get Armstrong. Big deal. The Tour de Farce is still hip deep in PED use and this will do nothing to stop that. All for show.
-
Does anyone actually watch the Pro Bowl? Nope.
-
Like I have been saying all along: Everybody is/was juicing. Why is it only the big stars get the scrutiny of the press? Answer: It sells news print and air time. The HOF should be reserved for the best players, period. The rest of that PEDs stuff is just media sensationalism.
