this has probably already said but I like "Zoltan" from his best cd Unity..........mrjazzman

It's user friendlyness and simplicity. Wish I could be more specific.........mrjazzman

IMO CD Trustee is overall the best cataloging software out there. I know someone will disagree so lets hear it...........mrjazzman

If you haven't heard it, get it right away. "Cannonball In Europe" Cannonball is ripping up the place, he's on fire. When I heard it, I wanted to call the Fire Dept. and tell them smoke is coming from my cd player and to please send an engine to the International Jazz Festival in Complain-La-Tour, Belgium on August 5, 1962. I have all of Cannonball's titles on cd and this one has shot straight to the top of the list. IMO the audience at this set gives the best responses of any audience on his other live performances. Although there have been several good ones, IMO, Cannonball is the best extension of Bird. To all my fellow Cannonball lovers, this is a must listen, I guarntee you will like this one..............mrjazzman

OK, I figured out why I have a problem and it certainly does not reflect well on All Music.com. It seems AMG no longer fully supports a Netscape browser which is the one I primarily use. When I accessed the site via Internet Explorer I got everything as before, i.e., photos of the individual artists as well as album cover jpgs. ← as far as album jpg's are concerned, Wallmart has the best jpg's although their selection is somewhat limited...........
-
neveronfriday, that was a great analysis

Exactly. Frankly, I'm confused by this thread. All of the changes that AMG went through took place nearly a year ago. I wasn't fond of them then, and they're still annoying now, but it doesn't bother me much to use the site. If you're not a "member," then sign up and cookie yourself in. All access and no hassle re: passwords and stuff. Still one of the best (free) music resources on the net. ← The complaints confuse me too, I signed up for free once they introduced that option and find the site as quick and useful as ever. Then again, I am perfectly happy with a PC and IE. I guess I am easy to please. ← the best one or the only one.............

What I hat most is that on the old site when you put a unique, one of a kind title in the search engine it would take you right to that LP, now when you put the same info in the search engine you get back a long list and have to hunt for your LP. Most of the time its near the top of the list but not always

imo he didn't sustain what he achieved with forest flower............

I've only posted about 50 times. Im so busy listening to, researching and acquiring the music so when I do post Im usually looking for something I can't find anywhere else. Like "Before Dawn" by Yusef Lateef, "If", "Jazz Concert In A Benedictine Monastary, "Makatuka" and others by Dr Nathan Davis for instance. And lets not leave out the good old job. I've been blessed to come in contact with some of my fellow jazz lovers/posters who've sent me cd-r's of items I did'nt have and could find nowhere else. I really apreciate that. And of course I've reciprocated
-
useless sarcasm will get you nowhere with me
-
Does ANYBODY have the LP "Before Dawn" by Yusef Lateef. One gouger is selling it on half.com for can you believe $150.00..............
-
I don't know about you all but i think the revamped allmusic.com stinks, now comparison to the old site. i know someone will disagree so lets hear it.........mrjazzman

No Love for Stanley Turrentine set?
mrjazzman replied to tranemonk's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I bought discs 4 and 5 because i already had the other material of individual cd's. Disc 5 has the best jazz cover of the Beatles Can't Buy Me Love I'v ever heard.............. -
third Dexter Gordon box-set
mrjazzman replied to Vincent, Paris's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
all of ltd's prestige cd's are available. If i can get the individual cd's that are in a mosaic set, i prefer the individual cd's, just my preference. I think the mosaic stuff is usefull when the individual lp's/cd's are not available. I have the Carmell Jones Mosaic for this reason.................. -
There are many other titles i'd like to ask about, but i'll start out with "Soul Eyes: Jazz Live at the Domicile Munich" on Saba Records by Benny Bailey. Does ANYBODY have a copy of this lp/cd. Will appreciate any replys

Car got stolen and I had this priceless item in the cd changer. Does ANYBODY have a copy they could burn for me. Of course I'm willing to pay for it. Just need the disc, still have the jewell case/art work...........mrjazzman

"Jazzbrothers" by Howard McGhee is a VERY nice set............

I should have mentioned that I have ALL of his non-monk stuff as leader and sideman. One of my favorites as a sideman is "Just Wailin'" by Herbie Mann, check that one out................
