  1. Good news on the upcoming shows. I saw the Charlie Hunter Trio in September in Sacramento. A very good show for Charlie Hunter fans.
  2. " but Mr. Neto was the stuff on keyboards. He played a couple of solos during wardrobe changes that showed he was more than a pop-playing keyboardist. " ~~~~~ Wasn't he great?! I thoroughly enjoyed his playing.
  3. I have heard and read many times over that Prince's Live Tour is out of this world. I will find out tonight in Sacramento. I 'have' to take my goddaughters, but I am really looking forward to this.
  4. Good topic!! The smell of rain in the air. The Fall. When the trees are bright shades of golds, reds, browns, orange, magentas. Ahhhhh!!! Live jazz! A good cup of hot tea. A cold rainy day, the window slightly ajar, a good book, and jazz in the background.
  5. The San Jose Fest was good. I did make it on Sunday and yes, it was hot! But I did enjoy it.
  6. This weekend: The San Jose Jazz Festival. Mostly free events. I plan on catching Terence Blanchard and Lizz Wright. Maybe a few more. The Stanford Jazz Fest. There are still some concerts on this weekend which I believe is the last weekend.
  7. Now maybe the Queens have a chance at a championship!!
  8. 93 degrees with a very slight southwest breeze. I just returned from the Olympic Track and Field Trials in Sacramento where it felt like 110 out.
  9. I have heard Joss Stone's Soul Sessions cd and I liked it. Yes, she has some maturing to do but so far IMO she has the voice. I also saw her on the latest MTV of VH1 divas and she did hold her own with the older "divas".
  10. Tossed salad Steamed rice Greens - turnips & mustards mixed
  11. This is great. She was the master at Wimbledon when she was in her prime. Grass is her best surface. Getting past the first round is good since every tournament she has entered so far this year in the singles category she has lost in the first round. Go Martina!
  12. HOT!!! 100 degrees yesterday and 98 degrees expected today in Sacramento.
  13. Showdown tonight! I hear that the Detroit police chief has most of the force on alert show the Pistons win.

  18. Another legend lost. RIP, Ray.
  19. Good game! Kobe comes through in he last seconds. The Pistons did hang tough the entire game. No huge leads by either team. The games in Detroit should be exciting as well.
  20. Lakers/Timberwolves, tonight. This series is getting rougher.
  21. I have been in many bomb scares. One job was at a state funded agency and I guess a lot of people did not like that my company got the contract because, there were many calls, evacuations, and many days of going home early. Later I switched jobs (another state/public agency) and our office was located in the same building as the local Urban League. Many more threats, evacuations, and days of going home early. From the statistics later on, my agency received just as many threatening calls (if not more) that the Urban League.
  22. Hmmm.... I have a dental appt today. My Dentist has switched from a smooth jazz station to an oldies station. Ahh, much better.
  23. First Andy, then Tupac. (even though I think Tupac is still alive)
  24. Yes, a very sad story. I saw this story on the 'Today' show this morning.
