  8. It seems that since there's no money in the newspaper business these days, only illiterates and/or idiots want to work for newspapers.
  9. Online this afternoon, watched the second episode of Elementary, the CBS contemporary version of Sherlock Holmes. Inferior to the PBS series and, typical of American TV, they cast a babe as Watson. American TV, in general, doesn't care about whether a show is done well, as long as it looks good.

  15. When I've heard Roscoe Mitchell announce the members of the AEC (live and on recording), he's pronounced Don Moye's name as Moy-ay.
  16. I see the word used, so I guess it means something to the users. I can honestly say that I've never used it myself, so it doesn't carry any meaning for me.
  17. The first Sonny Rollins record I heard and one of the first jazz records I heard (late 1962 or early 1963). Took me a few listens to hear some of what was going on, since it was out of the realm of my listening at the time. It's since become a favorite.
