  7. The Kink Kronikles is really a great compilation of classics and more unknown songs. Got that a couple of months ago: It starts with Victoria and ends with Days, so it can't be much better.
  8. Cool program. It might be to quick to blame the humans and the Dutch for this though. The cause for the extinction seems to have been the nasty animals that had sneaked onto their boat before leaving for Mauritius. http://www.rnw.nl/english/article/dodo-mystery-finally-solved I ate here a couple of years ago when I was in Rome: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g187791-d1011079-Reviews-Dodo_Ristorante-Rome_Lazio.html A very nice place with fine service.
  9. You also have this great previous collection with John Work III: http://www.artscenterofcc.com/Spring-fed/JohnWorkIIIRecordingBlackCulture.htm
  10. R.I.P to a fantastic soul artist. Good to know that he received some deserved recognition in recent years, and got the chance to release some great new albums too.

  15. Some background on the title for the song here: http://www.jazz.com/music/2009/3/11/greg-osby-east-st-louis-toodle-oo
  16. Anyone heard this record from the 60's? Is this a good one?
  17. Some great reading there on a magnificent artist. Seems like the link in the original post is broken, and this is the working one: http://www.ayler.org/html/ayler_remembered.html
  18. Does that album happen to mention the name of the artist that did the cover? That style looks really familiar but I can't place it. It should be this fella: Gage Taylor: http://www.artistdirect.com/artist/gage-taylor/650326
  19. Big Joe Turner - The Boss Of The Blues (Atlantic 1234)
  20. T-Bone Walker - T-Bone Blues (Atlantic reissue)
