Nice job, Agustín. I couldn't imagine taking on a task like this. I find in next to impossible to narrow down favorites or top tens in a thread let alone trying to do it on the scale you and your friends did. The inclusion of the "40 runners-ups" seems to make it more complete and digestible for me. Looking at the list from the standpoint of a place for a new listener to start, I don't know if you can go wrong. Although, in my own personal opinion I may have selected several different titles.

I was a little surprised at the firing of Trammell, but I think 2 things hurt him. One was how unexpectedly well they did in 2004. The bigger problem is Jim Leyland wants to manage again and Detroit is trying to grab him. Though I don't like the Dodgers I too thought Tracy did the best he could with what was given him. But the lack of playoff success over the past 17 years is tough to take, so when in doubt, fire the manager. ← I thought the Trammell firing was a case of 'fire the manager because you can't fire the players'. hehe No chance, the place was packed, inside and out. The cops actually showed up twice in response to noise complaints. Management ended up shutting the doors and windows so you couldn't hear the band outside. Maren may have been the one that complained since I didn't call to let her know I was going to be there. Of course I would have called if I knew we are going to make a stop in her neighborhood.
