  1. Do these pants make me look fat?
  2. Is that trumpet in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
  3. Ever seen a grown man naked?
  4. Mary Ann or Ginger?
  5. Have you ever been to a Turkish prison?
  6. What did you have for breakfast?
  7. At first I'm reading that and saying, "Mettalica was never the same, what the hell are you talking about?" Sad as it is to say though, you're absolutely right.
  8. I ate like a pig last night. Tonight will be easy, just some pecan crusted chicken, and green beans.
  9. Who fixed it? How did they fix it? I still don't understand why it happened. But thanks for fixing it! no problem
  10. Yes, a great film. Marvin Hamlisch's arrangements of Scott Joplin's music brought that style into the mainstream, at least for a while. I remember there being a resurgence of Joplin's music in high school concert bands in the 70s(where the arrangers were always ready to jump on a trend). Oh man, "The Sting", is one of may favorites. Slap Shot still makes me laugh my ass off. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Hustler, The Color of Money, The Verdict, Nobodys Fool, all great movies. The Towering Inferno may not have been a great movie, but Newman along with McQueen makes it worth watching. RIP, Mr. Newman.
  11. Oh shit, I don't need that kind of attention and pressure. My music posts typically suck. Somebody fix it!
  12. German sampler......Smoked pork loin, wiener schnitzel, sauerbraten and bratwurst, potatoes, red cabbage & sauerkraut served with a cold Reissdorf Kölsch.
  13. Typically a cow stops producing milk somewhere around a year after giving birth to a calf. So, yes even though they're milked, eventually they dry up and have to be bred again.
  14. Somebody better inform PETA that Ben & Jerry no longer own the company. Unilever
  15. Have a good one.
  16. Pizza yesterday. One with fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomato sauce. The other topped with prosciutto di Parma. Tonight..... Soup made with a potato broth (potato, celery, carrots, tomato paste, bay leaves, olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and the outer rind of Parmigiano-Reggiano) cooked are about an hour. Add lentils and cook for another 40 minutes, add Ditali pasta, cook 10 more minutes. Finish in the bowl with a drizzle of olive oil and a few pieces of Pancetta.
  17. Yeah, everybody and their mom became "real estate investors". They even had/have TV shows glamorizing that shit.
  18. If "investor class" means rich, I'd say there is not much to this opinion. A person loses a shit load of money from investments gone bad and he's now going to want to pay more in taxes? I think the opposite would be true, as they would want to hang on to even more of what they're making.
  19. .....and if you want to read someone who 1) is a pragmatist, not a zealot and 2) actually knows what he is talking about, try Bob Kuttner. I noticed Kuttner leaves out Robert Rubin's (Obama financial advisor) role in 1999.
  20. Yikes. I don't see it popping up on the news reports yet, but that can't be good. Take it easy. There has been discussion of the credit rating, but no changes. Read Here
  21. Yep. Yeah, that great Republican piece of legislature passed in 1999 known as the "Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999". Clinton and Rubin wanted it since day one, and they got it. Read the Mother Jones Article
  22. I hate that shit too. Some of that pop-up program advertising is actually animated too, which is to say that you'll see some guy in the bottom third of the screen actually moving around while he gets in the way of your image. It's maddening. Yeah, I love to be in the middle of watching a murder scene or something, only to have Frank Caliendo and Bill Engvall's big fucking heads pop up and dance around to remind us of a new show next week. Afterwards, your like "what the fuck just happened?" "I'm here, watching and I and I still missed"!
  23. The stationary logo images and pop-up program advertising we now see on our TV screens by every broadcaster. It's gone way beyond the the small logo, now this shit actually blocks out parts of the picture.
  24. Thanks for posting up that piece of history, Jim.
