  1. Each comes with the appropriate quarter of the book. A real bargain I tell ya!
  2. Okay. Weird. My mind is playin' with me. I have the JRVG and sold my earlier edition. Thanks!
  3. Even the ones that don't suck, someone thinks they do!
  4. Listening to the "Sunshine Daydream" date, August 27, 1972. Of course it's nice to see it, but nice to hear it too!
  5. To each their own!
  6. Can't wait to hear it! My copy is at home. . . and I'm not! A friend is going to forward to me my latest mail batch soon though! Retro-nette. . . yes, I bet it is. I saw this group in Austin and I would agree that there definitely is a retrospective feel to the music and performance. It was one of the best nights of music I've heard.
  7. I'll send it with the next batch of Pigpen compilation series artwork from your art director. . . .
  8. It was never a Connoisseur, I'm pretty sure. It was one of the early cds, and then part of the Collectors Classics re-pressings, right?
  9. Yes, that's why I was very happy to see this available on eMusic for download, was posted last Tuesday or so!
  10. Hey, you've got so many silver discs now. . . I'll send you a Walkman!
  11. Hey, without middle fingers, we'd have to SAY the obscene words!
  12. I'll think about it if the cape and cane come with it.
  13. Many many more happy ones!
  14. Equally deserving of reissue those big band sides. I've managed to get the officially released ones via Chronogical Classics and the Columbia cd releases. . . but would love a Mosaic set. Don't rule it out. . .eventually they'll probably sic Scott Wenzel on that.
  15. Sorry, lately Lon's vast financial holdings have been all tied up in hepharon supplies and other central venous catheter accessories for my wife! I'd love to have one of those guitars, though to be honest a man of my financial status really should have Tiger or Rosebud. . . .
  16. I don't doubt that! It would be interesting to know about the rights. It was pretty unusual, I think, for artists to own their masters at that time. The movie "Ray" made a big deal out of Ray Charles owning his masters at ABC/Paramount. I haven't read any biographies of Charles, so I don't know how accurate the movie was about that. For all his legendary status, Tea wasn't exactly a chart-topper, so it seems to me like it would be unusual for him to be able to make that kind of deal, but you never know. Regardless, I'm definitely looking forward to hearing the music--Bobby Hackett with him on it too! I don't personally believe that Joe Teagarden has the rights to this Verve lp, but that he is just putting it out because he wanted to have a "prize" recording to offer and he's mad at how his dad's work has been stiffed by some majors and bootlegged all over the world.
  17. I've got to agree with you Felser. . . that live side of "Last Exit" is indeed wonderful.
  18. Wish I had the answer!
  19. So you don't think there's 24 bit SBM? (Just a question, I thought there might be, don't know, that is what I assumed these were. SOMETHING has to be used to reduce the 24 bit master to a 16 bit format, SBM, DSD, some process).
  20. I like it. She has a unique voice and style and the playing behind her is quite good. It's hard to describe, so I won't, but other than the sound of her voice I think it's what you would expect from the players and if it looks as if you'd like it, you probably will.
  21. Maybe one day the dvd will be released separately (doubt it, but it's all I might be interested in). Two unreleased tracks in the box set. Little to get me to plop some money down.
  22. that's ridiculous. shn/flac is just about as easy as Mp3s. There's only one additional step. Besides, why would you want lossy when you can have lossless ? To each their own young whippersnapper. My iBook and I just have problems with some things, and I understand limits on both my time, talents, and resources. You may understand that one day yourself!
  23. I'm not even sure if they got the rights, or if Tea had the master as part of his arrangement for that lp, etc. . . . But you'll enjoy the cd.
