Don't you know: when an American record company refers to cds, they expect you to "realize" that there are no cds from any other country on the planet! "On cd for the FIRST TIME"! That makes sense, if you don't take in to account any foriegn issues!

Hey Mont: my guess is that in the next few years you'll see some Capitol cds of the jazziest stuff. . . . Just a guess, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I preordered as well. Would have preordered the Pepper as well if Addey had done the transfers and mastering. I'll stick to my old copies. . . .

The Moon cd is not technically a ripoff of the HighNote cd, as it was released YEARS before the HighNote cd was released. BUT it clearly uses the Newman material which they probably grabbed from Onyx Records lps. The two cds are not identical by any means; each has items not on the other.

I'm convinced from my own conversation with Michael Cuscuna and from reports of others that the Washington unissued session will NEVER be released while he holds the reigns of the reissue department. It's a real real shame, but I don't believe it will be released in part or in total til the next vault administrator comes along.

We've done this a few times before! I chose the last option.

Yes, that's a ver good one. I have developed a liking for Mildred and have a lot of her stuff (the Mosaic and a few other cds). Her early stuff before the recordings with Red are great (Bunny! Eddie Lang!), and most of the material with Red are very well arranged.

They put didn't put all those Dial tracks on there, but they did add that session (two takes each) to the Norvo two cd set Chris. Looks as if it is missing about three takes of Congo Blues and one of Hallelujah.

I have to be in the Newklear mood. When I am a fifties or a sixties date works equally well. I think I like most the stuff NOT on cd that I have heard. . . live Newk is the best.

Yes, this is really good news; love Speak Like a Child. Next I want Inventions and Dimensions to be RVG'd! I also am looking forward to Feelin' the Spirit, one of my favorite Blue Notes, and I've been living without the alternates since I got the JRVG and gave my domestic copy to Kevin.

NO, I don't need to buy it, I've had mine since the day of release! It cost, it hurt, but it's quite a set! The sound is better than on the Holiday set (which really isn't bad if you ask me). I'm glad you're listening to different stuff. . . . You can really hear a lot of great Lester here, and some not so great, and the booklet is a wonderful resource.

WELL Alan. . . you can always resell it later, right? I'm not sure if you would like it or not, but it's a wonderfully put together box set and it will make an interesting study!
