Of the ones you list, I would think the Elveen is the best single fit. But the Byrd / Adams I know you would love. . . if you don't have any of the individual lps get it!

The Jeri Southern I like a lot is when she accompanies herself on the piano. She's real good at that and the results are special.

Doesn't bother me if it's gone. I liked it most when it was young, and less "daring". . . .A lot of the images from the last three months or so I didn't need to see! I don't personally think it will make one iota of difference as far as gender attendance goes here however. Rainy and Rachel and the few other wonderful women we have here are very special!

From what I can tell it's been on DVD from international markets but not yet in the US. . . . Scheduled here for a November release. Sure is one that I'm glad I saw on the big screen! I prefer to watch movies that way, truth be told!

Haven't read this one. Have read a book about expatriot black artists living in Paris that was fascinating, Tyler Stovall's "Paris Noir: African Americans in the City of Light" . . . . I bet this one is good. Me I finally started reading "Beyond Belief" and can tell it is going to be another good one from Ms. Pagels.

Yeah. . .funny how that works out huh? I really liked the different versions of the story and how it unfolded the tale and the character development. Great story material, very well acted. And I love the blind musician and his music!

Some really good sessions. I like the Bennie Green and the Tommy Turrentine a lot. The Sonny Clark is one of his best sessions. . . period. And the Little is . . .timeless!
