  3. “Monk Big Band and Quartet in Concert” Columbia/High Density Tape Transfer cdr 600×600 113 KB This is an interesting version of this material. Here’s the source according to the “label” Recording Info: Transferred from a Columbia 4-track tape It’s the content of the original LP and only the original LP, but it includes the edits removed for the original LP. Sound is quite nice.
  4. If I could just have one Mingus box set I think it would be the Debut--such varied material, great music. Luckily, I can have all the Mingus box sets. A better situation.
  5. Charles Mingus “Mingus Moves” Atlantic cd From this new box set Discogs Charlie Mingus - Changes: The Complete 1970s Atlantic Studio Recordings I have the cd version. Mastering is very good.
  6. Marcos Amorim Trio “Portraits” Adventure Music cd
  7. My rock concert days were before the heavy merch days. Long ago, far away. Not sure about bow ties.
  8. I hadn't thought about this. I wonder if it's a case of "demand." I do know some jazz fans who. . .wouldn't wear a t-shirt of a jazz artist. They dress a little bit more. . .refined. Myself, I appreciate a good t-shirt with printing but so much more often I wear a plain colored t-shirt of which I have a spread of colors available. When I have a really nice printed t-shirt, such as the four Uniquo that I have. . . I worry about harming the printing in use or washing. I find I don't wear them as often as I imagine I would when I buy them.
  9. Duke Ellington “The Lost Recordings–Live at the Berlin Jazz Festival 1969-1973” Ellington’s piano playing in his later years is awesome to hear.
