  1. And when you have TWO people with personality disorders interacting . . . .
  2. It's a shame that Buddy and Mel became so hostile if true as they were friends since WW2.
  3. “The Complete Ahmad Jamal Trio Argo Sessions 1956-1962” Mosaic Records disc III This nicely remastered set is a great thing to have as all the Jamal Trio albums I’ve bought are noisy enough to be very distracting with this subtle music with quite moments.
  4. Ed Motta “Piquenique” cd. I haven’t played this one for a while. Like it more and more each time it spins.
  5. Alex Blake! Randy Weston “Khepera” Verve cd
  6. Eddie Condon Town Hall, Vol. 1, LP 1, Jazzology Records. Not the best sound–I think the cd edition sounds better–but a great concert with killer players!
  7. Kenny Burrell with Coleman Hawkins “Bluesy Burrell” Moodsville/OJC/RVG Edition cd Wonderful with the cool morning we’re having. Fiona the dachshund is enjoying it I think
  8. There's a real artistry to what Mel could do. I don't know how often he reached deep into that well. I like his Bethlehem material, and the early Verve material. . . and here and there little bits beyond.
  9. Abbey Lincoln (featuring Stan Getz) “You Gotta Pay the Band” Gitanes Jazz cd Such elegance. Thanks to Hank Jones I think.
  10. Betty Carter “It’s Not about the Melody” Verve cd The ever amazing Ms Carter.
  11. “The Imaginative Johnny Windhurst” Jazzology LP
  12. Duke Ellington “Complete 1947-1952” CBS France 6 LP box set I noticed Dusty Groove had this French box set for 27 dollars and even though I have had this box set about seven years on LP and over 20 years on cd, I just had to order it. Turns out it is completely brand new, unplayed. Which is much better condition than the LP set I’ve enjoyed for so long. So I can certainly keep this one! Listening to LP 3 right now. GREAT music in this set.
  13. 1m 800×800 241 KB Marcos Valle “Nova Bossa Nova”
  14. “The Complete Capitol Four Freshmen Fifties Sessions” Mosaic Records cd IX
  15. Director Otto Preminger. This is from the production of "Anatomy of a Murder."
  16. Idris Muhammad "Legends Of Acid Jazz" Prestige cd Featuring Clarence Thomas on tenor! (No, I don't think it's that Clarence Thomas.) Reissues Black Rhythm Revolution! (Prestige 10005)and Peace and Rhythm (Prestige 10036).
  17. Dexter Gordon “The Montmartre Collection” Black Lion/Muzak Records Japan cd 2 The Black Lion recordings never have sounded better to me than on these Japanese releases from several years ago. Dexter Gordon with Kenny Drew, NHOP and Albert Heath.
  18. Morelenbaum2/Sakamoto “A Day in New York” Sony cd I just love the three cds I have of Jacques and Paula Morelenbaum with Ryuichi Sakamoto. Beautiful music and sound! Cello – Jaques Morelenbaum Guitar – Luiz Brasil Percussion – Marcelo Costa Piano – Ryuichi Sakamoto Vocals – Paula Morelenbaum
  19. Kurt Elling "Super Blue" cd
  20. Listening to this beautiful cd Jacques Pelzier / Open Sky Unit with Barney Wilen "Never Let me Go" While thinking of my Dad. William H Armstrong
  21. I saw them in Austin years ago in a great sounding hall. An amazing performance!
  22. Leo Parker
  23. Thelonious Monk “The Classic Quartet” Candid cd 2023 After waffling I decided to order this new cd even though I do have a budget early cd of this in storage. This new remaster certainly would sound better than that cd in a side by side comparison. And it’s a great performance. On the same day in Tokyo the Monk Quartet did this tv show performance, and a concert released by Columbia/Sony as a 2 disc set. The latter is stereo, this TV performance was recorded in mono.
