  2. Listening to those in my last order. Lots of great Benny Goodman! Many of these records don't appear to ever have been played, and several were sealed. Thanks again Pete.
  3. I have DVD-Rs that have lasted for over 7 years . . . though I have had a few cdrs go bad, not yet have I had a DVD-R go bad.
  4. Just got in all the Sunbeam LPs of Madhattan Room broadcasts (have these on cd from Viper's Nest)--listening to the first volume now.
  5. From the Losin site: November 11, 1968 (2 items; TT = 31:19) Columbia Studio B, New York NY Commercial for Columbia Miles Davis Quintet Miles Davis (tpt); Wayne Shorter (ts); Chick Corea (el-p); Herbie Hancock (el-p); Dave Holland (b); Tony Williams (d, perc) 1 Two Faced (W. Shorter) 18:00 As the tune is winding down, Davis says, "Teo, you got enough of that..." 2 Dual Mr. Tillmon Anthony Williams Process (new take 1) (M. Davis) 13:19 Listed on the sleeve and label as "Dual Mr. Tillman Anthony (William Process)," but since Tony Williams' full name is Tillmon Anthony Williams, the title is more likely to be as listed here. Davis (and perhaps also Gil Evans) is the composer http://www.plosin.com/MilesAhead/Sessions.aspx?s=681111

  7. I've got the King Jazz cds and the GBH. I think I'll just stick with those.
  8. I've always loved this material from Duke (that I have on several cds) but man. . . the sound on these lps just astounds me. Why did I stay away from vinyl so long?
  9. Yes, Side Two only.
  10. Side One is fascinating. I've loved Side Two since the lp was released, that side just picked me up and hurled me forward then and still does now.
  11. I agree that the Webb set will be great. I have all this material though. . . . I will probably not get this one right away. . .I will probably get it eventually.
  12. I'm excited about both those, and also next year's Miles Davis Bootleg Vol. 2. I'm also interested in the rumored box set of Miles Davis mono lp releases. I'm back into vinyl and would love to hear these.
  13. The Storyville CD release sounds very good, from the same source discs and mastering was also by Jack Towers.
  14. Right there's a European release on American Jazz Classics that combines the two together on one disc. Released early 2012.
