  1. Well, I just got my 15,000 mile service and a new rear tire (got a new front tire 1,500 miles ago, I use the hell out of the dual discs on the front of this bike!) and I've almost put 4,000 miles on my bike since I came back from Ohio. And since I've nothing better to do I guess, and because I've missed both the feel and thrill of the road, and seeing my family since I cam back in the middle of June, I'm heading off on the road to Ohio again next week. Bought a smaller bag to strap on the seat as I'm not bothering to take camping gear this time. I'm going to go a further North route this time and go through Missouri and stop in at the factory there where they make Dyna Glides and Sportsters; they offer a tour. Should be a nice stop. I've added some bling since I came back: extended rider pegs (more comfort options), shifter and brake lever pieces from the Silencer collection, a nice bezeled visor for my speedometer (shades the glass nicely), vintage looking visored turn signals and a chrome surround for my brake light. And the biggest benefit was new mirrors, these lock into place, look great, and give me another inch off the bar of vision. A few more changes planned.
  2. Two wheels are just right

  3. Apparently Vic Anesi has redone the entire official catalog of Elvis in DSD and the discs I've heard (the Gospel box set, the Memphis one that Flurin mentions and the Comeback Special box) are fantastic sounding. Rumor is that there will be a huge box of all the masters this year (I'm not in the market for that).
  4. Well, it would be insulting not to examine a gift! PS: I think she may be as blonde as I am.
  5. Yes, especially a few blocks further up South Congress.
  6. If you can afford it, in my opinion this is the place to stay in Austin. http://www.austinmotel.com/
  7. Happy Birthday Shawn! Many happy happy returns!
  8. Thanks Dave! I'll have to keep that one wrapped while my passionate brunette Latina is around.
  9. Thanks gentlemen! It was a memorable day!
  10. Thanks guys! I'm home stuffed after a killer dinner at Mandola's, having an after dinner cup of tea with my gal. Life is so good sometimes, this was a great day, and I'm sure that was fueled in part by all these well wishes here on the board. Tomorrow, it's Shawn's turn for a celebration!
  11. Thanks Jim! Glad to see you posting. Getting ready for dinner at Mandola's. . . my favorite Italian place. Hope Shawn can make it.
  12. Thank you all! Wow, Mila is beautiful.
  13. This year I'm 55.
  14. Thanks guys. Getting ready to get a ride in right now, and then lunch with my lovely gal Anadina, and then this evening dinner with Anadina and a few friends. I'm also trying to plan a dinner tomorrow night for Shawn's birthday. Everyone think positive birthday thoughts towards Shawn for his birthday tomorrow. We need the tides of luck to turn for Shawn. It's amazing to remember how sick I was this time last year, I haven't been that sick for years beforehand and I've been pretty darned healthy the months since. All those days of fever. . . wow.
  15. I got that email too. I'm not a vinyl guy, but I'd really like to hear the two lps with the "original mixes."
  16. I have been listening to an album a day from that set the last five days. Great music. Wonderful sounding cds too!
  17. So far this season I really haven't felt as compelled to watch as last seasons have been, but I'm enjoying Don's frustration.
  18. Me too. I haven't emailed him for some time. He's been doing quite well last I knew.
  19. Many many more happy happy ones you guys!
  20. I knew you would dig it!
  21. I have had this sort of experience. It's almost always reversed in time, I return to enjoyment of the material that had failed to intrigue me. I believe, in my case, it has an emotional cause. There's been some sort of shift, often that I'm not really distinctly aware of in some ways.
  22. I have the Ellington on several other cds, and the other on a soundtrack cd of the movie. Again, this stuff might be hard to find now but it's been on cd before, all ESP did was compile it. I paid full pop for this set when it came out and still feel it's a good deal; at the sale price it's a good deal inded.
  23. Actually, to contradict TM, there's nothing in the Billie box that a fan wouldn't have found on cd in the last twenty years if he looked hard, but it's all under one cover and it sounds really good.
