  1. I agree--a masterpiece of arrangement. . . fully under Gaye's production control. . . excellent use of synths and drumming.
  2. Marvin Gaye “Trouble Man” Motown 2 cd set, disc 1

  16. Gerald Cannon “Gerald Cannon” Woodneck cd Sherman Irby brings his distinctive down home ways to this one. Great disc!
  17. It’s been a long time since I listened to this. Clearly a Weather Report “side” album in its way, but the arco playing makes me think that it may have been an inspiriation for McLaughlin to include a violinist in his Mahavishnu Orchestra that was soon to follow.
  18. Stan Getz “Tonight In Paris” Hobby & Work Italiana Editrice cd This is the same material as “The Song Is You” Laserlight or LRC etc. Bass – Miroslav Vitous Drums – Jack DeJohnette Piano – Stanley Cowell Tenor Saxophone – Stan Getz Recorded live in Paris, 02/12/1969
  19. A late start to the listening day due to unexpected domestic issues involving the well pump. Fortunately now resolved. It sure was cold, a damp cold, much earlier this morning. Starting off with a Stan Getz I had not heard in some time, Steeple Chase cd “Copenhagen Unissued Session 1977” which is a quartet with Joanne Brackeen, NHO Pedersen and Billy Hart. Truly nice sound and performances.
  20. Blossom Dearie “Our Favorite Songs” Daffodil cd
  21. David Benoit “Waiting for Spring” GRP cd Picked this one up because Emily Remler is here, playing very well. 342×341 27 KB
  22. I have all their work bought in the 'nineties, because of Charlie Rouse. It varies a bit from album to album.
