1. Could have sworn I have an Evidence cd. Anyway, it's in storage.
2. On Evidence, about 15 years ago. But this is "expanded." And if previous reissues are to be repeated, this will sound really good, from better tapes and more carefully mastered.

6. Tom Harrell “Wise Children” Bluebird cd A cool morning to cherish and this disc is pulling me into the music. The system is sounding so good!
7. Cannonball Adderley "Burnin' in Bordeaux--Live in France 1969" Elemental Music 2 cd set, disc 1
8. Yes, his work is pretty cool. Overall I didn't really enjoy the two discs I have heard.
9. Giant Beauty by أحمد [Ahmed] compositions by ahmed abdul-malik, re-imagined and arranged by [ahmed] I’m on the second disc right now. Edit to add: I may not go any further with this set and put it up for sale. Repetitive short phrasing for an hour or so seems to be the modus operandi. Not very enjoyable, though very well-recorded.
10. Kenny Clarke Francy Boland Big Band “Now Hear Our Meaning”
11. I’m listening to disc IV. The rain has died down making that a little easier.
12. Joe Lovano “Tenor Time” Somethin’ Else cd Great band and playing! 800×700 181 KB
13. Continuing with more well-recorded jazz guitar. . . "Albare Plays Jobim--A Tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim"
14. Jack Wilkins “Merge” Chiaroscuro Records cd 800×600 80 KB 2 LPs from '77 on one cd Bass – Eddie Gomez Drums – Jack DeJohnette Flugelhorn – Randy Brecker Tenor Saxophone – Michael Brecker Guitar – Jack Wilkins 800
15. Another cool morning! I’m treasuring these as they will get fewer and fewer in the coming weeks. Robert Hunter “Tales of the Great Rum-Runners” Rounder Records/Rhino 2 cd set, disc 1 I bought this when it first came out, and I was then a recent Grateful Dead explorer. I loved the cover. . . the record not so much. A lovely gal (in all ways) I then knew liked it a lot so I gave it to her and never replaced it. I like it a lot more now in this new release, in part because it sounds so good and my system is so different (in important, improved ways) than it was at that time, fifty years ago.
16. Cassandra Wilson “Thunderbird” Blue Note cd
17. Bennie Green "Mosaic Select" discs II and III Babs and Bennie! Babs was a tremendous talent imo. I once asked Michael Cuscuna to compile all his recordings in a Mosaic set. His very appropriate response was "Lon, you must be out of your mind!"
18. Sam Rivers “Fuschia Swing Song” Blue Note Japan 85th Anniversary UHQCD A fascinating album; Jaki with Ron and Tony are something else. I met Sam about 40 years after this was recorded. Still one of the most amazing performers I’ve seen and one of the nicest persons I’ve met.
19. “The Greatest Jazz Concert in the World” Pablo 3 cd set, disc 2 (all Elllington Orchestra)
20. I dug out the Deluxe edition of this one to listen to the “Detroit Mix” that Marvin submitted to Motown and which was rejected in favor of the remix that became the original release of the album. It’s a great alternate version. And this music in either form is just. . . amazing, masterful. And this edition includes a bit more clearly the line that is also repeated by Donny Hathaway on his “Live” album and explains for me life and after-life and the cosmos: “Everything is everything.”
21. “Louis Armstrong Meets Oscar Peterson +4” Verve Universal Japan UHQCD Louis Armstrong – trumpet, vocals Oscar Peterson – piano Herb Ellis – guitar Ray Brown – double bass Louie Bellson – drums
22. Sonny Rollins “Freedom Weaver” Resonance Records 3 cd set, disc 3
23. Ricky Ford “Loxodonta Africana” New World cd Ricky’s first as a leader. Ricky Ford - tenor saxophone Oliver Breener, Charles Sullivan – trump Janice Robinson – trombone Jonathan Dorn – tuba James Spaulding - alto saxophone Bob Neloms – piano Richard Davis – bass Dannie Richmond – drums LP cover: 600×589 180 KB cd cover: 700×700 230 KB
24. Rudolph Johnson “Spring Rain” Black Jazz Records/Collector’s Choice Music cd Spring Rain. . . because spring rain is falling right now. Bass – Reggie Johnson Drums – Ray Pounds Piano – John Barns Tenor Saxophone – Rudolph Johnson
