  1. Shawn: Not sure if I was clear but the You Tube link is the Dr Terrors House of Horrors movie.
  2. Heard about Smoltz as I was driving around town. He looked is bad shape in the dugout after he was pulled from the game. He knew it was over for him. That must be a tough feeling for someone who pitched at such a high level. Baseball is a tough game....
  3. !!!!!Congratulations!!!!!
  4. You can hear the crickets chirping in the night, the Red Sox Nation is so quiet today.
  5. Sad end to a great career for Smoltz, poor guy, he just doesn't have it anymore. It could have been worse if Posada didn't make such a mess of it, standing up going into home plate.
  6. 169.99 euro is a good price also, that's $249.15. First the Beatles, now this, will the madness ever stop.
  7. It doesn't look all that bad for Texas. I don't see any team running away with the wild card spot, Boston & Tampa Bay cannot seem to break off a big winning streak, so -- you never know. It would be nice to see someone other than Boston or Tampa Bay get that spot, heck, Seattle is only 6.5 games out of the wc spot. Re: Boston. If they don't at least split the Yankee series, their season is in serious trouble. Tampa's got three at Seattle and three at the Angels coming up. And six games left with Texas, including a three-game series at Texas in late September. I think that Tampa Bay is the one team that capable of playing outstanding baseball, in fact, they seem to be getting better now. In terms of quality, they, of course, far out shine either Texas or Seattle, those two teams are just happy to have good years. My brain tells me the wild card will be Tampa Bay, but hope springs eternal for those of us who follow other teams with a shot.

  9. On the bright side, Seattle will only be six games out of the wild card spot.
  10. ...and Boston just went down by 4-1
  11. Thanks to the Man With The Golden Arm: Movie on You Tube
  12. Dr Terrors House of Horrors. Nice old fashioned horror film.
  13. Yup, I finally went "native" with basketball a few years ago (I've been a gypsy ever since the St. Louis Spirits disappeared. ) I'm kind of relieved the only big change was getting Miller at PG. He's a true point guard and a fine team player. While I like Blake a lot it would probably be better for him to with the second unit. The reports about Greg Oden's play during the summer gives reasons to optimistic and to not be at the same time. Oh, and yes, I have high hopes. I hope they can at least scare some teams deeper into the playoffs. Now that Seattle no longer has a team, I follow the Trailblazers & Knicks (I like D'Antoni's style). Oden can't play as bad as he did last year, though he is getting close to forty by now.
  14. Quincy: Do you follow the Blazers? Supposedly Roy is going to sign a contract extension soon. I think that Portland might be very good this season.
  15. I guess these were some of the "highlights." How does Boston keep this guy after this?
  16. Hey!Happy Birthday to someone who has made me buy a lot of rock cds!
  17. The most amazing stat of the whole board: this thread has had 331,774 views.
  18. The league and television schedule for the NBA was released yesterday -- geesh, just put cameras on Kobe and LBJ 24/7 and be done with it? PS: Nice pre-pre-season handicaping by Bruce Jenkins. Another PS: Did anyone catch Marbury's performance on his 24 hour webcast? I keep reading very strange reports....
  19. Of course I listen to you Dan, then usually think the opposite!
  20. Tough start for Boston, losing in the 13th when Longoria jacks one out for the win. This might be a very difficult week for the Red Sox Nation.
  21. I have a soft place in my heart for 8-track, my first 8-track buy was this:
  22. We'll see how "Cy Young" Buchholz pitches against the Yankees on Saturday.
  23. Been listening to a lot of Shaw lately; am I the only one who thinks his solo in Adios, Mariquito Linda is one of his best? It's really top ten stuff. That's the great thing about Shaw, I'm always discovering new things in his music.
  24. Anyway, this is going to be an interesting week for the Red Sox, they're going on the road to play Tampa Bay & the Yankees. I'd say they have to at least split the six games this week or they could find themselves in a little bit of trouble.
  25. Happy birthday!
