The music's pretty special too. Of course ! And for my greatest delight with the participation of Sam Rivers ! But as for Larry´s organ and Elvin Jones´ drumming I prefer even more "Unity" . It´s my first choice of Larry Young. Quote

Clunky Posted March 19, 2019 Report Posted March 19, 2019 David Wertman————Kara Suite——-(Mustevic Sound)  pulled this one randomly off the shelves for the first time in a while. Plenty of energy in this free jazz blow out. Charles Tyler and Ken Simon battle it out on the saxes. Drum, bass and a french horn make up the group. Recording is pretty dark to muddy but the music is clear enough.  Quote

Dmitry Posted March 20, 2019 Report Posted March 20, 2019 I tried to play this - , but it sounded very poor, muffled and just generally crappy, so I figured out it was the speakers. Turns out both 2.5 amp tweeter fuses are blown. I recently played a test cd with pink noise, I don't know if that's what did it. I cranked it up all the way, hoping I could hear at 12kHz.  I hope it's just the fuses. Anyway, just picked up the above LP by Roland Hanna and George Mraz - ROMANESQUE . It's probably very good. jazzbo Posted March 20, 2019 Report Posted March 20, 2019 Yes, I know that cover as well. I don['t mind the Catalyst one myself. But I'd buy the Japanese if I saw it at a good price. Quote
