HutchFan Posted December 17, 2019 Report Posted December 17, 2019 Lots of Peacock gospel LPs still floating around out there down your way, Jim? Quote
JSngry Posted December 18, 2019 Report Posted December 18, 2019 Not a lot, no. But I always check the "Religious" section in whatever used store I am in, and carpe diem when something turns up, Not jsut Peacock, but anything that looks good (or is known to be!). One exception, though - recently found a Sensational Violinaires Checker side, which I would have liked to have been all over. But the price was $14.99. and I was already maxed out for the visit. So, maybe if it's there next month... It was this one: Quote
HutchFan Posted December 18, 2019 Report Posted December 18, 2019 The Fantastic Violinaires. Never heard of them, but I love the name. Quote
JSngry Posted December 18, 2019 Report Posted December 18, 2019 Very much worth knowing The Fantastic Violinaires! Produced by Gene Barge!!!! Quote
HutchFan Posted December 18, 2019 Report Posted December 18, 2019 Thanks Jim. Will give those a listen. Right now, I'm listening to Lucky Thompson. Specifically the trio sides he made with Oscar Pettiford and Skeeter Best, as heard on this set: Quote

sidewinder Posted December 18, 2019 Report Posted December 18, 2019 (edited) My UK pressing, sounding as good as the day it was bought back in ‘74. In fact way better, thanks to the deck. 12 hours ago, HutchFan said: Thanks Jim. Will give those a listen. Right now, I'm listening to Lucky Thompson.
