Never had the cd, but my King pressing sounds sweet.

My only CD version is the McMaster. Valuable for the additional tracks. The sound on this Tone Poet edition is far superior though, lovely and crisp. Never heard the King of this one !

Giorgio Buratti -- My Soul in Performances -- (Bentler, IT)

That's a name not often mentioned here, although he recorded several excellent albums.

It's a shame (and hard to believe) that none of his work has even been reissued.

‘The Artful Dodger’ on Concord is worth checking out. Includes a snippet of him soloing on drums as ‘Kid Krupa’ with Glenn Miller’s AAFB during WW2 as a very young prodigy !

Update on the Riverside. Marked T/P on the inner so test pressing it is I guess.

Jimmy Smith - Back at the Chicken Shack. Original mono BLP 4177, in pretty decent shape. Picked up, strangely, in a flea market in Reykjavik in early March 2019. Apart from a local soccer club shirt for my boy, this was the only souvenir I took home from the island, an amazing, other-worldly place. And the music is smoking good, as if anyone can argue that. I'll always associate it with Iceland now.
