The liner notes state that it is radio broadcast material from 1937 and seems to be remotely recorded live with an audience. A mixture of the big band and small group. Charlie Christian is only on one small group track. The sound is surprisingly good.

I love it. I had purchased it very soon after it was made. I was the "Star" in HighSchool because I had this and the VSOP "Tempest at Colloseum", all the jazz loving class mates came to my place to listen.
