It's a cool LP. They've got another one coming out soon on De Stijl, as does Jakob with a new solo LP. His solo set was awesome, of course.

You guys actually pay money for that? :D

Now spinning - Tubby Hayes 'Voodoo EP' (Trunk). It just sneaked in through the mail box.

and damn - the Curse of the Voodoo has struck as the music comes out as a 16rpm afro dirge. Suspect that my deck power supply might have been connected up with a crossed wire after the recent upgrade. Back to store !

Serves me right for insulting Swedish hippies

Cool, so it's out?

Yeah - Can be ordered via the trunk site. From what I'm hearing it's selling pretty fast, so few copies are likely to hit the shops.

Wish I could hear it at 45rpm though !

This morning's spins:

Lee Morgan 'All That Jazz' (UK DJM, 2LP). 'Both/And' live material from 1972, available on CD from Fresh Sounds. I think I prefer the vinyl sound quality of this bootleg. Fine music, of course.

Various artists - 'Black California' (Savoy Reissue series, 2LP). Great opportunity to hear early Dolphy with the Roy Porter Big Band.

Yeah, none are being allowed to the US distributor for Trunk, because I tried to order it through a shop here.

A few minutes ago - J.R. Monterose: The Message (Jaro). A reissue pressing. I like it better than his Blue Note album.

Now - Gerald Wilson Big Band: Moment of Truth (Pacific Jazz). A nice original mono pressing.

Looks like I had/have a drive belt tension issue - have got it to play at 45rpm and it's damn good. Messengers-ish afro instrumental number on side 1, vocal track and straight-ahead instrumental number on side 2. Almost like a Tempo EP. Short but sweet !

Can you post a link to where I can buy this in the US, assuming there are any left?

'Berlin Contemporary Jazz Orchestra' (ECM)

How is that LP?

You can't. Direct from Trunk only.

Howard Roberts - Out of Sight - Capitol (rainbow stereo)

Bernard Herrmann - It's Alive II OST - Starlog

The latter is a totally tripped out late score by Herrmann featuring synth mixed in with orchestra, not unlike Les Baxter's similar masterpiece from the early 80s B-flick "The Beast Within."
