Tonight I'm spinning the same two albums I played last night because I enjoyed them so much!

Oliver Nelson "screaming the blues" (New Jazz, DG orig)

Larry Young "inta somethin!" (Blue note, mono ear)

Good choices indeed ....

Al Francis - John Neves - Joe Hunt: Jazz Bohemia Revisited (Lost Cosmic Unity)

Couldn't find an image for this one. It slipped under the radar when it was released (1986), and if you come across a copy, grab it - unique and wonderful.

I reviewed it for the Chicago Tribune  when it came out because I knew who Francis was from his stellar work on Don Ellis' "New Ideas." Loved this record and got in touch with Francis by phone afterwards. Wish I knew what became of him. There used to be some "live" things with him on YouTube.

The entire album:

bought a sealed copy for $5 on the recommendation of others here. It's excellent.

How is that Fall/Favors/Murray thing on Circle? I've never owned a copy.

Don Rendell & Ian Carr - Phase III. Suits the warm evening after a sweaty day of garden labour

Personally prefer 'Dusk Fire' after tending the garden waste bonfire..:D
