porcy62 Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 (edited) I broke cd 2 of the venuti/lang set, what can I do now, a part blame myself and cut my right hand? I don't want to buy another set, and I don't know anybody who can burn this cd for me. I wrote to Mosaic but I had no answer.... Edited May 31, 2004 by porcy62 Quote
Ed S Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 How long has it been since you contacted Mosaic? Did you use snail mail or e-mail? In either case, it is possible that they did not receive your communication. I would definitely try again. E-mail them using the feedback link on their website and explain your situation. Ask them if they would sell you a disc 2 because of your accident. The set is in print so this should not be a problem and chances are, they won't even charge you for it. Their customer service is excellent, so I betting that they did not receive your first communication. Good luck! Quote
jazzbo Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I agree with Ed entirely. If for some reason you can't get satisfaction from Mosaic, send me a PM, I'll be able to help. Quote
Shawn Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Yeah, try Mosaic again, I got a defective disc once from them and they replaced it in 2 days. Quote
Brad Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Yes, they're excellent. I never broke a cd but I did break the Charlie Parker box, twice (!) and they replaced it each time. I'm sure they'll do the same for you, no questions asked. Quote
Ed S Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I guess the one thing that I was assuming that really was not addressed is whether you purchased the set from Mosaic or an authorized dealer. If you did, then it should be no problem. If you picked it up off ebay and it's either not numbered or a promo or one of those sets that can be had without box or booklet that some sellers offer then there will probably be trouble getting a replacement disc. Eric Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 (edited) Years ago I bought the Freddie Redd set used and the booklet was missing. I emailed Mosaic, told them what I had done and offered to buy a booklet. They sold it to me for $10, no questions asked. When the Mobley set came out, I had all the CDs (TOCJ or US) and did not want to buy the set. I told them exactly that and asked if I could buy the book. Again, $10, no questions asked. Probably helped that I have been a loyal customer since 1985, but these guys/gals act like family - it is amazing. Edited May 31, 2004 by Eric Quote

Parkertown Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Mosaic's customer service is truly first rate. I had a defect to the box of the Morgan/Shorter Veejay which arrived last week. A replacement was dispatched upon day of notification. Big Could you please tell what the defect was? I just pulled the trigger on this set; I think I got one of THE last remaining copies... Quote
ghost of miles Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Does Mosaic have any early-jazz sets on the drawing board right now? Something along the lines of the Berigan, Venuti/Lang, Bix or Bailey sets? Those all seem to have been Scott Wenzel's babies, in one way or another... Quote
