Dan Gould Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 I'm going to go with Houston, just barely, because of Clemens. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Haven't the foggiest idea. Quote
JSngry Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Hoping for the 'stros, but it's gonna be tougher than tough. Just hoping that the Rocket still has it... Quote
catesta Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Gonna be a toughy, but I have to go with St. Louis. Quote
Aggie87 Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 A guy on my local talk radio just predicted it would be 6-6 in the 9th, and Jose Vizcaino would hit a two-run shot to win it. Quote
Tim McG Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 I don't want to see Jeff Kent in the WS. The traitor. GO Red Birds!!! Quote
JSngry Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Clemens is looking good, and that old fire seems to be in him as he comes off the mound every inning. I just hope he doesn't stay in too long and give up a big one... Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Great, now I someone to blame. I wanted to see the Red Sox smack him. Quote
Big Al Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Ah well, 'twas fun while it lasted. At least the Astros can take consolation in the fact that they lost to a Division Champ with a better record than theirs, not a wild-card winner. Unlike another unnamed American League overpaid team. BERIGAN Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Well, Glad the Cards won, but a bit bittersweet, Astros never have been in the series. I think the Astros have something to build on since they didn't fold like a tent like they have in the past(except 1986, still just about the best playoffs ever) The Cards were the best NL team, and it they hadn't somehow won, I would have wondered it Tony LaRussa was just overrated...Hats off to Houston, a break or two, and they could have won. This loss might keep Clemens around for another year, which is a good thing....Pettite, Oswalt, and Clemens healthy next year??? They might make it all the way...IF they find a way to keep Beltran... Although I am a die-hard Cardinal fan and have been my entire life, the Astros battled the entire way and it was an excellent series. I much prefer this type of a series as you never knew who was going to win as each team was kicking ass the entire series; no real blow outs. Each game could have gone either way during the final at bats! Hats off to Houton for battling to get there and putting on a good show ! Mark Quote
