connoisseur series500 Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 I've been studying for an NASD Series 7 exam over the last three weeks. It's been rough and nervewracking, especially while working for an employer whom I dislike at the same time. I needed to pass this exam in order to be marketable elsewhere. I took the six hour exam this morning and was scared to death. I needed a 70% to pass and scored 80%, but that was still too close for comrfort! Whew! I needed this; otherwise, I would remain tied to an oppressive job. I've already put some feelers out there with some other employers. Let's see how long it takes... My result page said that only 66% of those who take the exam actually pass; and the national average for those who do pass is 73%. Old Conn's still got some grey cells left... Imagine that...an old fart like me.... Every question seemed difficult. They are all tricky and require lots of thought and memory. The person or committee who designed that test is sadist for sure. Anyway, thanks everyone for putting up with my grumpiness and stress over the last few weeks. I'm getting loaded tonight.... Quote
J.A.W. Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Congratulations, Paul, and good luck finding a new job. By the way, what's "NASD"? (I'm a simple European, so...) Quote

connoisseur series500 Posted November 12, 2004 Author Report Posted November 12, 2004 National Association of Securities Dealers. It's a watchdog committee for the SEC (Securities Exchange Commission.) They're all a big bunch of Bolsheviks, just as most of corporate America is. It means I have the license to buy and sell individual stocks, bonds, munis, UITs, etc...all the crap I'll never buy and sell anyway. I just need the certification in order to get a job back in Toledo. Quote

connoisseur series500 Posted November 12, 2004 Author Report Posted November 12, 2004 (edited) I'm getting loaded tonight.... On what? I've got some: --Carlsberg Elephant Malt Liquor (7.2% alc.) A few of those would stop a charging Rhino. --Foster's lager --Stella Artois --Carlsberg Lager --Pilsner Urquell --Hollande 1620 lager --Lowenbrau (from Munich-not the American stuff) (I believe in variety... ) I have some buds coming over this evening. Those who forewarn me that they'll drink no more than a couple tonight, get the Elephant Malt Liquor. Cheers! Edited November 13, 2004 by connoisseur series500 Quote

connoisseur series500 Posted November 12, 2004 Author Report Posted November 12, 2004 Did I forget to say I forwarded this thread to your boss? He already knows I hate his guts. I was making some calls a couple months back and unknowingly called a bank customer who grew up with my boss. "Did he have a personality back then?" I asked his childhood friend. I'm sure that one got back to him... Quote
