That's awesome, Paul! Congratulations. That's no easy test.

When I was looking for a job this past summer, Paul was kind enough to get me an interview with a bank in Detroit. Although things didn't work out, I am very grateful for the opportunity he gave me. It's always good to hone your interview skills. Plus, I was able to meet one of the Organissimo Forums' nicest members!

Good luck in all your future endeavors! :)

Nice post.

Thanks Jim!

Sure hope you end up moving to Michigan in the near future, but it's probably unlikely.

Thanks Dan and Evan.

Did I forget to say I forwarded this thread to your boss? :g

He already knows I hate his guts.

I was making some calls a couple months back and unknowingly called a bank customer who grew up with my boss. "Did he have a personality back then?" I asked his childhood friend.

I'm sure that one got back to him...

:g

That's one way to give yourself motivation to search for a new job!

In any case, congrats and good luck!

Paul, that's great GREAT news. I had no idea you were trying to get that in your bag of tricks. I haven't taken the test, but I have several friends who did (two who weren't in the lucky 66% percent), so I've witnessed first hand what it takes. A HUGE accomplishment--well done!

Anyway, thanks everyone for putting up with my grumpiness and stress over the last few weeks. I'm getting loaded tonight....

To be frank, I did not notice any difference in your posts. They all look grumpy to me :g

Now that you are probably sobering up, hearty congratulations!

Does that mean that you will now have a real job?

National Association of Securities Dealers.

It's a watchdog committee for the SEC (Securities Exchange Commission.)

They're all a big bunch of Bolsheviks, just as most of corporate America is. <_<

Really??? I did not know this!!! I must consort with these men of whom you speak... they will be invaluable allies in my bid to topple this country's intractably capitalist regime!!!

Many, many, many congratulations to you, Comrade Conn. You are highly worthy of the better employment that you seek. :tup

Come on, Red. As if you didn't already know this.

America is fervidly democratic in its political ideals while the corporations are Stalinistic to the hilt. Corporate boards are little politburos and they run top-down.

Thanks for the kind words, Pete and Guy.

Zounds!!! With purges, rehabilitations, and what-have-you??? Sudden policy about-faces, endless committee meetings, and protracted factional warfare??? Sly hypocrisy and backbiting betrayals???

I am so happy I think I may cry!!! :o:(:)

Nice going, Conn. That exam is tough- a few years ago a whole gang of people were busted for using ringers to take the test for them! Great accomplishment, hope you get a new job that you actually enjoy.

BIG CONGRATS, Paul!!!!!!!!!

I remember the 2 months of turture I spend studying of the Israeli Bar exam. What a nightmare! I wanted to pass just to have to go thru with it again.

Since we're sharing personal exam horror stories, the 1st year comprehensive exams here at the Yale econ PhD program were horrendous. For the final month of studying I was studying 14 hours a day, seven days a week. Only breaks were for eating and sleeping.

Wow!

Really appreciate it when you post some of your "lessons of economics" on this board. I've certainly enjoyed them. It seems you are philosophically aligned to the Economist magazine and it's writers.

I've just quit my old job and taken on a new one. Don't know exactly when I'll be starting, but is should be soon.

Couldn't have gotten it without the NASD exam. As I said to myself while studying, "I cannot afford to fail this exam."

Sure hope things work out with this new position.
