GA Russell Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Does anyone have an opinion on the James Carter, Stefon Harris, Christian McBride or Jason Moran? I've already decided to get the Sonny Rollins. Quote
ejp626 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Does anyone have an opinion on the James Carter, Stefon Harris, Christian McBride or Jason Moran? I've already decided to get the Sonny Rollins. Bandwagon is my least favorite CD by Moran, though it still has its moments. I think the Harris is pretty good. If you like his other CDs, you'd probably like GUT. Quote
Aggie87 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Does anyone have an opinion on the James Carter, Stefon Harris, Christian McBride or Jason Moran? I've already decided to get the Sonny Rollins. I like the Christian McBride disc quite a bit, it's very much worth the price! It's got a nice Weather Report cover (Boogie Woogie Waltz), and it has a live video for that track and maybe one other, if I recall right. Solid band - Geoff Keezer, Ron Blake (former Organissimo sideman), and Terreon Gully. I saw them on the tour for this album, and it was a great show. I don't have the Carter, but the Harris and Moran are also both well worth the price! Quote
chris olivarez Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 I used the free shipping and handling to get a boatload of Zappa's. Quote
Free For All Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 boatload of Zappa's....... .....and whiskers on kittens...... Quote
GA Russell Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Thanks for your input ejp and Aggie. I've ordered quite a few CDs this month, and I don't know where I'll find the time to listen to them all! It's hard to pass up a good bargain. Quote
Aggie87 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 The Complete Jack Johnson Sessions 5 CD Set - $9.95 Code: A7P2 Beef - that set is a clearance item right now, so it's $9.95 regardless of the code. Plus codes don't work for free shipping on clearance items (I don't think), so the JJ box is going to set you back $20.70 plus whatever your tax is. Still a good deal! Quote
Edward Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 (edited) Tjazz brought this promotion code to my attention on the "Yourmusic.com Corner" thread, but it is such a good code that I believe that it is worthy of further note: L7P1 - 65% off with free shipping, good until (through???) 7/15 The newly available Dexter Gordon 3-CD Savoy set, "Bopland", costs only $12.24 delivered when purchased with this code. This is also a great code for purchasing $24.98 and $29.98 2-CD sets, which, with code applied, cost only $8.75 and $10.50 respectively. A number of the Universal "Deluxe Edition" releases (such as Marvin Gaye's, "What's Going On", and James Brown's "Live at the Apollo, Vol.2") are priced at $24.98. RDK Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Shoot me in the head, but I ordered Keith Jarrett's Carnegie Hall set. Couldn't resist at just over $6 shipped. That, plus the Essential Sly Stone comp for $8. Quote
GA Russell Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 BMG is now carrying Beatles titles, including Rubber Soul, Sgt. Pepper, The White Album and Abbey Road. http://www.bmgmusic.com/catalog/browse/art...FEY?partyId=136 Quote

mikelz777 Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 The last time I was a member, the shipping charge per item was $2.79. Are shipping charges the same or have they gone up? Quote
Joe G Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Still $2.79, special rates for multi-disc sets. Quote
mikelz777 Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Thank you much. I've been feeling a bit of the BMG twinge again. I'll have to see what's available in the catalog since last being a member. Quote
randyhersom Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 (edited) Buy 1, get unlimited at 1.99 +shipping/handling. Not quite unlimited if you order online, can't add any more after about 65. I grabbed bunches of Blue Note's, it's not paranoia if EMI really was just sold to greedy corporate raiders!! Joe G Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Or... To get the 55% Off CDs, Plus Free Shipping offer, enter the promotion code "S7F3" in the box on the left side of our website's homepage and click "apply." But Hurry! Promo code is only good until 9/25/07! I usually wait for the 65% + free S&H, personally. That's the thing about BMG - you have to not mind waiting for one reason or another. Quote

Anytime I can get under $6 is time to pull the trigger on a batch. Ignoring sales tax: Regular-priced discs are 18.98 + 2.79 S/H = 21.77 net $1.99 priced discs are 1.99 + 2.79 S/H = 4.78 net Suppose I get 1 regular and x sale-priced. To get an average cost under $6, if we do the math, x has to be at least 13. Including 8% sales tax: Regular price is 23.51 net 1.99 sale price is 5.16 net Now, to get 1 regular and x sale-priced, with average cost under $6, x has to be at least 21. Hope this helps... Quote
