Lee Morgan also played bass with accordionist Leon Sash at Newport in the mid-50s.

His first instrument was the vibes, though.

Bertrand.

This Lee Morgan was a "hefty" female and Leon's wife. I met her/them when I worked for Delmark in 1966/67. They ultimately made a deal with Koester for a record but it was issued after I left the label.

I will always remember when Leon first called and I answered. The Atlantic "New Tristano" lp was playing in the background. Leon asked who was playing piano and I said Lennie Tristano. He said "I didn't know Lennie was in town".
