jeff palmer's albums?

john abercrombie's albums with organ? how greazzzy can an ECM album get?

larry young has some early greazzy kind of stuff.

charles earland definitley moved outside of greazzzz territory in the 70s. but he also incorporated other keyboards into his repetoire.

maybe since i don't listen to this kind of stuff enough, but i think "el hombre" has some greazzze. i mean it has some burnin' jazz soul music on it. i guess is it too vigorous to be greazzzy?

whatever.

Geez, I've got one of them and it bores the shit out of me. Yeah, ECM isn't known for its grease... :P

i have mentioned these albums before...but...they are really good. i like "master said" even though it has a less interesting lineup of musicians. (no brian auger on additional organ)

they were created to be background albums in germany for television and radio commercials and stuff like that, i think. but they are trippy and deep and interesting and though funky at times, not greezy. not that german and british dudes making background listening music would ever be so greezy, intentionally or unintentionally.

these albums are also pretty readily available.

oh since the print is small, these are roland kovac albums. i know he also did some MPS work.

I'm almost positive I saw Frosty this winter playing drums for a guy opening up for the Derek Trucks Band in Vail. I had never heard of him before, but he was a hell of a drummer and the guy he was playing for surely made it known that this dude's name was Frosty.

What's the story?

i get POed re: love cry want because it seems to be labelled as "nicholas and gallivan". well in my opinon, it's larry young that makes the date. i mean i guess the other two guys are alive and they can use the cash and attention more than larry young (or jimmy molinari who i guess was not so essential and perhaps was never heard from again). but it seems like larry young gets short shrift in the labelling and recognition department.
