Rooster_Ties Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 Seem to recall that they preserved the order of the tunes on the Mosaic Select -- or at least the side with Tolliver/Maupin/Patrick. It was a nice sequence, and I'm glad they kept it. Quote
bertrand Posted November 18, 2005 Author Report Posted November 18, 2005 (edited) EKE BBB, I look at the Hill discography all the time, but I never noticed that there was a listing of the albums as they were issued as well. D'oh! Rooster, Actually, Mosaic did not keep the track order, which is why I was asking. I put the box in my iPod, but I wanted to make a playlist with One For One in album order. Of course, it's a mix of two sessions, and I have it in my iPod session by session. Thanks to everyone for their help, Bertrand. Edited November 18, 2005 by bertrand Quote

The first three tunes on disc #1 of the Select are the same three tunes on side one of One For One. Just not the same order. Quote
Eric Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Is Euterpe on One For One the same as Euterpe on Contours by Sam Rivers? If so, who is the composer? OFO says Hill, Contours says Rivers ... Quote

OFO says Hill, Contours says Rivers ... My recollection is that the songs are different, but I have never compared the two. The songs are completely different. In fact they are so different that I hadn't even realised until now that they had the same title! Quote
Eric Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Per Wikipedia: "The Muse Euterpe (pronounced "you-TER-pay") or Eutere ("rejoicing well" or "delight"), in Greek mythology, was one of the Muses, the daughters of Mnemosyne, fathered by Zeus. Called the "Giver of Pleasure", when later poets assigned roles to each of the Muses, she was the muse of music. In late Classical times she was named muse of lyric poetry and depicted holding a flute." So by coincedence, they both named a tune after the muse of music. Interesting! Quote
Shawn Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 My favorite Muse... Greek myths, Olivia, E.L.O., Gene Kelly & roller boogie.... Quote
