bertrand
What is that bizarre piece of architecture in the backdrop on the cover of Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Bertrand.
Rooster_Ties
The least you could do was post an image of the cover -- sheesh... Edited to post a bigger one from Dusty Edited January 6, 2006 by Rooster_Ties

bertrand
I think someone once Id'ed it as a well-known LA landmark, but I did a search and couldn't find it. Perhaps on the 'other' board? Bertrand.
brownie
Bertrand, William Claxton who took the image on the album cover has another photo of Land and Mitchell at the scene in his recently published opus 'Jazz Life' (page 346). He says it was taken at a site undergoing destruction in Los Angeles. No other detail!
ejp626
I think it's the Harold in the Land of Jazz that has the landmark cover. Course I have no idea what it is.
Chas
I think it's the Harold in the Land of Jazz that has the landmark cover. Course I have no idea what it is. What it is : The famous Watts Towers in Los Angeles . The Hear Ye , Hear Ye cover shot is something else .

sheldonm
Bertrand, William Claxton who took the image on the album cover has another photo of Land and Mitchell at the scene in his recently published opus 'Jazz Life' (page 346). He says it was taken at a site undergoing destruction in Los Angeles. No other detail! I think Claxton also mentioned that a couple kids walked by and asked what they were doing; he told them he was shooting a record cover. m! COOL!! Cool! I believe that Mingus wrote about Simon Rodia and his towers in Beneath the Underdog. But I can't find it, since the damn book has no index...
