The Wynton Kelly Left Bank live recordings with Mobley (1967) and George Coleman (1968) have been available as Fresh Sound CDs for a couple of years. Recently I happened to notice a few recordings I hadn't previously heard of:

Freddie Hubbard & Jimmy Heath 'Jam Gems: Live at the Left Bank'

Freddie Hubbard (trumpet); Jimmy Heath (tenor saxophone); Gus Simms (piano); Wilbur Little (bass); Bertell Knox (drums). Recorded live at the Famous Ballroom, Baltimore, Maryland on June 13, 1965.

Has anyone around here heard them?

Sound quality varies on the Left Bank recordings, but these are reasonably good, and they do kick ass! Pick 'em up - you won't be disappointed.

Both are indeed fine, but I found, somewhat to my surprise, that the date w/Heath was my favorite of the two.
