I think he meant the "stellar" part of the 2003 draft class, Jim... :P

No, they are playing off what Wade said a few weeks back, that he wanted to be the first one of the 2003 draft to win a ring. Darko already has one.

Besides, the sentence says "star member of the stellar draft class". Despite Darko's lack of play in Detroit, he's still a star. Everybody knows who he is. Infamy is pretty much the same as being famous, right? :D

Well congrats to the Heat :g:g:g

Even though I am a die hard Piston fan, I congratulate the Heat on their heart and "gut check" as Riles would say. :bwallace: :bwallace2:

Mavs have learned the hard way the same as most other first time Finals participants. First, you are not playing against the Refs (no matter what the calls are) and therefore you must keep your focus and play the game.

Second, you must keep your focus ALL the time.

Third, you better have that gut check for the close out game 4 or all games once you get past game 4.

Way to go Shaq and that was very humbling of you to say (on camera) that you were the "second option" on the Heat even though everyone tried to make you the first. You also handed the title trophy to Wade and did not disappear in a huff upon Wade's winning the MVP, vis a vie #8 when you won the MVP. Wade is much more man then #8. :tup:tup:tup

TO ALL THE DALLAS FANS,

You really should take heart in this Finals. Most teams DO NOT win on their first trip to the Finals. Even the Bulls, as great as they were, could not even get past the Pistons in the Eastern Finals for two years before making the finals. Of course, a little history was made after that but the point is the same. The Pistons likewise, could not get past the Lakers for two years before finally knocking them off.

The only reason Miami is a first time winner is because BOTH TEAMS WERE FIRST TIME FINALISTS and one of them had to win. :excited:

So don't fret, you have a good team, a very good team and next year things may well be different with the lessons learned this year.... :tup:tup:tup They have a young team and can only get better.... :)

Jim, I guess you and I are gonna have to agree to disagree here. I don't believe this time will be the last time we see the Mavs in the Finals. Like I said, reality caught up with them in the worst of all places, or they let it catch up to them and rattle them. Mark my words, they'll be back!

Of course, I could be completely wrong and we could be looking at the NBA's version of the Buffalo Bills. But I hope not, and I honestly don't think so, either.

TO ALL THE PISTON FANS

You ought to be pissed as hell. The Pistons self destructed right in front of the whole world. That was our "Back-to-Back" title for the taking.

Without that self destructive behavior, there was no team in the entire league that could beat them this year. I am sure the causes will come out within the next week or so. Be watching and let the management of the Pistons know what asses they were to let that happen.

Everyone take your cheap shots at Kobe! Such crap. :tdown

That was not a cheap shot at Kobe, but rather a comparison of the behavior of two other persons involved in the same type events as Kobe. Too bad you took it that way. And your undying defense of Kobe seems to indicate you condone everything he does. I hope I am wrong Noj. peace :)

I don't know what Kobe does or has done to be able to condone it or condemn it and neither does anyone else here.

Compare Kobe and Wade when Wade helps bring home his third title in a row. Or maybe we should start talking about how Wade can't win without Shaq? Or is it Shaq who can't win without Wade?

I'd be more confident saying that if they played in the East...

I guess I won't reply to it until I learn which came first, the chicken or the egg. :g

Not if you're a Blazer fan trying to keep up with all of their trades. Busy busy busy!

But yeah, it's not exactly a thrillfest.

Horrible news. Lamar Odom's six-and-a-half month old son suffocated in his crib. My condolences to Lamar and his family.

Don't know how I missed that in the news. Very Sad and tragic. Anyway, hope the Lakers keep him so he can really put his teeth into the Triangle System next season. It was a tough learning curve for him for some reason (same as everyone else I guess).

God, this chills me right to the bone to hear this. That was my number one fear when Zora was small. In fact, even though she is over 2 years old now, I still check on her if she's been asleep for more than 2 hours during the day...

That is horrible.

Mine's 10, and I still do that at night! :)

The Lakers signed Vlad Radmanovic away from the Clips. All he'll have to do is switch uniforms and get ready to shoot threes on dishes from Lamar and Kobe.
