league's looking over the footage of that HARD foul by Dirk at the end of the game........

he could be suspended for game # 6

LMAO

:g

If the league conspires to keep the finals going the full 7 games, then they surely won't suspend Dirk. Depends on whether you guys believe in the league conspiracy theory or not.

Damn, Shaq's got corns the size of a fist.

I was talking to a few people at work today and I heard the usual story about how Shaq is a terrible athlete and uses his great size to dominate smaller men. I've been hearing this throughout Shaq's career. My thoughts are that this 350 lb man runs up and down the court from one season to the next. Imagine the wear and tear on his joints. :o This is one fine and courageous athlete. He's a fighter and amazingly resilient. Large men rarely get their full due. I can't run 3 miles w/o doing a Fred Sanford shuffle for a couple weeks afterwards. Shaq is amazing.

I wonder if he'll be like Earl after he retires...barely able to walk. (Earl Campbell) I sure hope not.

Well, "runs" has been a highly variable quantity... ;)

But yeah, Shaq has used his size at the expense of developing his finer skills. Look up "finesse" in the dictionary, and if you see a picture of Shaq, you'll know that dictionary came from Planet Bizarro. :g

But so what? He gets results, and results are the ultimate yardstick of an athlete's career.

Bruce, come join us in the live chat man, all sorts of BS and rants flying around! :)

Hey Big Al, when I did see your post it was the next morning, and I was surprised there was live chat connected with this bulletin. I figured out how to use it but nobody was there. cu next time. :(

Aw man... I thought that was you last night under the guise of "yo_mama." I guess it was Alfredson after all! :w:g

I agree that Cuban needs to shut the hell up as well, but since that ain't gonna happen anytime soon..... -_-

He's been playing how many seasons now getting hit by "designated foulers" employing Hack-a-Shaq tactics?

From Cuban to Howard's bumbling timeout call to Dirk pitching temper tantrums...too many distractions for the Mavs. I think they're rattled. Barring payback calls from the zebras, I say the Heat close it out tonight.

Bill Simmons - ESPN Column

Good reading about the Finals and the state of the NBA (thanks to JC's Larry Nagel for bringing Simmons to my attention). :tup

One of the best he's written and I'm a regular Sportsguy reader. He really nails the entire problem with the NBA right now. The sad thing is, I don't think they care.

This cracked me up:

I want to say something about Dwayne Wade, but I fear I may get called for a foul.
