mikeweil Posted March 19 Author Report Posted March 19 (edited) Had an opportunity to visit this excellently conceived exhibition on the influence of Charles Baudelaire's poems in "Les Fleur Du Mal" during a weekend trip to Berlin. https://www.smb.museum/en/museums-institutions/sammlung-scharf-gerstenberg/exhibitions/detail/evil-flowers/ That museum's collection is worth a visit. Best collection of surrealism related art ever. Almost ten Odilon Redon works, Piranesi's Carceri, Goya's Caprichos, Ernst, Bellmer, Max Klinger - I try to go there whenever I am in Berlin. Missed it, had a ticket but was unwell on the day. From that photo it doesn't look too crowded which is what I feared Quote
adh1907 Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 The Rock and Roll Public Library. Central London. Basically the contents of Mick Jones of the Clash’s lock up or garage. Hand written lyrics, old clothes, fanzines and flyers from the 70s. Interesting if you’re an old punk! Quote

Not an old punk, just old and would have loved to have seen this nostalgia rush. Quote

Was a strange one, not a lot of information as to what was on display but anyone who saw the Clash in ‘77 or ‘78 would recognise this! Quote

mjazzg Posted April 27 Report Posted April 27 Noah Davis at the Barbican Art Gallery My introduction to Davis although I feel I may have seen his work in group shows. Very thoughtfully curated, some outstanding paintings and a very sad story. https://www.barbican.org.uk/whats-on/2025/event/noah-davis Quote
Holy Ghost Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 (edited) Picasso at CMA through April. We're members, so we went twice, mostly pencil, the feature of the show. Although they peppered other masterpieces in there that CMA already acquisitioned, it really was a great showcase. Great space, great exhibition. I'd upload some pictures I took, but I have to format them to post here. Edited May 13 by Holy Ghost Quote

I saw a similar show in London a few years ago, it too was really good https://www.royalacademy.org.uk/exhibition/picasso-and-paper Quote
Holy Ghost Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 Takashi Murakami. Me and my wife just went to his exhibition at CMA, a few weeks ago. Wow. You like modern Japanese art meets Pokémon, you're in for a treat! Truly, one of the coolest and most unique exhibits I've ever seen. Dude was there, but didn't get to meet him. Quote
