Chuck Nessa Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Since listing the Japanese cds in another thread I've had a few PayPal payments. In the past (including last night) I have received a message from PayPal telling me I have money. Today I have received funds with no notice from them. I only knew 'cause one member emailed to ask for the shipment to another address. Then I found other payments. I have contacted PayPal by email with no response. Anyone else ever have this problem? This should also be a notice to anyone sending me funds - let me know it happened. Quote

Chuck, I sent you money a little while ago for the Bowie/Congliptious- is it possible that Paypal doesn't have your email address correct on where to send notification? I've always gotten a notice from them whenever I get any $. Quote

Big Al Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Yeah, that's happened to me the last couple of times I've sold stuff in the last couple of weeks. I figured it was just a setting I neglected to check. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Chuck, something is up with PayPal. I paid someone via PayPal earlier this week and instead of the usual "instant E-mail", it took a full day. Also, when the E-mail did arrive, it was dated the day before! I wonder if they're routing their E-mails through an Iraqi server? Quote
Guest akanalog Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 they are also seemingly phasing out the paypal virtual debit card, the lifeblood of my internet shopping experience. Quote
B. Goren. Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 In the past I had several problems with paypal. I e-mail them but it didn't help. Eventually I called them and they solved everything in seconds. I think it's always better to call them: 402-935-2050. Quote
rostasi Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Also, sometimes it's good to occasionally check where you have spam rerouted. I've found that the sifting isn't always perfect and I'll find a PayPal notice in the trash. R~~ Quote
Jazzmoose Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 they are also seemingly phasing out the paypal virtual debit card, the lifeblood of my internet shopping experience. Not good! But then I have a plastic debit card from them; hope they don't phase that out, or there'll be no point to the thing for me! Quote

Eventually I called them and they solved everything in seconds. I think it's always better to call them: 402-935-2050. My experience is the same as Bengtsy's - I have sent them e-mail after e-mail, and usually get a response that indicates that they don't understand what I'm saying. But one phone call sorted everything very quickly. That was the UK Paypal, but quite likely it reflects things generally. MG Quote
AllenLowe Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 I'll fix it for you Chuck - first I'll need: 1) Your social security number - 2) your credit card number 3) your bank account number 4) your mother's maiden name 5) your shoe size and not to worry, this is a secure server - Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted October 6, 2006 Author Report Posted October 6, 2006 The "notices" started arriving at 1:59 am and the last one arrived about 10 minutes ago. Strange. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 The "notices" started arriving at 1:59 am and the last one arrived about 10 minutes ago. Strange. But dated the day before, right? It is very strange. I would be something's up with their server. Maybe they're under a "denial of service" attack? I imagine they have a few enemies by now. BTW, I contacted PayPal about this via E-mail and they got right back to me... claiming it was probably intercepted by spam filters. Don't they think I already looked into that? Duh. Kevin Quote

Stereojack Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I had similar problems with Paypal yesterday, thought it might be a fluke. I usually receive an e-mail from Paypal when a payment has been made. Two items were paid and Paypal did not notify me. I found out about the payments by checking my Paypal account. This happened one other time a few weeks ago and I assumed that I must have overlooked the e-mail. Hopefully this is a passing glitch. I've been using Paypal for nearly four years with no problems.
