Bluerein Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Hello all, just wondering why this Emarcy LP isn't on LP (not even one Japanese issue if I'm correct). Is it that bad? Quote
brownie Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 There was an LP reissue of this album on the Trip label! Nothing wrong with the date as far as I remember. Time for an updated reissue. Did not realize it's not available on CD if I'm not mistaken!! Quote
Chas Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Emarcy's " In the Land of Hi-Fi " series included LPs by Sarah Vaughan , Dinah Washington , Patti Page , Errol Garner , Georgie Auld and Cannonball Adderley . The Adderley is the only one I believe that has not been on CD ; odd that the Page and Auld sides would be out , but not the Adderley . The Adderley is currently available however on vinyl : http://store.acousticsounds.com/browse_det...p;section=music Quote
felser Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 The Adderley is the only one I believe that has not been on CD ; odd that the Page and Auld sides would be out , but not the Adderley, It's also been odd how slow a lot of the Adderley stuff on Capitol has been to get to CD. You would think he'd be a relatively big seller. Quote

Daniel A Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Hi, Hans! Good to see you here! Quote
mikeweil Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 (edited) Hah! And I thought I had all of Cannon's early sessions ..... I'm tempted to get the vinyl when I look at the personnel. That one preceded the sessions reissued on the Verve Twofer CD Sophisticated Swing - must be good music, for sure! Edited October 24, 2006 by mikeweil Quote
jazzbo Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 It's a natural for Verve's "LP by Request" series. . . here's hoping one day. I think a few tracks appeared on the "Compact Jazz" Cannon cd. Definitely worthy! Quote

Well aware of that, which is why I said ALSO been odd about the Capitols. Quote
