connoisseur series500
I just signed on. The music selection is excellent, but the downloading takes forever. I'll be downloading for years.
Harold_Z
I'm no authority on downloading, but the downloading is really from Rapid Share and that's the same no matter who you're getting there from. Rapid Share will annoy you into getting a premium plan.

connoisseur series500
The muisic transfers over very nicely. There are some glitches however. Some songs get cut before they end, and Raul de Souza's "A vontade Mesno" doesn't download. Bummer..... I highly recommend this site to anyone. The music is wonderful. Any way you can check on that Raul de Souza download Mr. Parrot?
Noj
i signed up but do not know how to log on and download.... i have my password and id..... Just click on the links that say "here" and it will take you to the Rapidshare site. Then click on "Premium" and it will ask you for your password and ID. After that, pick one of the links presented (titled "Global Crossing" or "Cogent" or any one of those) and clicking on it should begin the downloading process. Rapid Share will annoy you into getting a premium plan. Yes, but it's a good deal. Tons of music. People basically have to buy the premium plan twice--once for the recently added stuff and once to download the stuff in the archives. I still think it's all worth it. CDs cost a hell of a lot more. connoisseur series500
Couple of Walter Wadanderley cds on verve cannot be downloaded. One is Batacuda; the other is Kee-Ka-Roo. Lots of other good stuff.

Late
I didn't check to see if Zeca already has this, but here is João Gilberto's Chega De Saudade. Edit: Oops. Jim already recommended it above, and it is on Loronix. (The link I provided is from a different site.) The album is, at any rate, very much worth downloading. I don't think it's too much of an exaggeration to say that it's the Kind of Blue of Brasilian music. Edited April 8, 2007 by Late
jazzbo
I'm staying away from loronix because I just don't have the time right now, but doesn't Dick Farney look like AL LION!?

zecalouro
GOOD album!! I have to admit my quotes are getting better all the time. JimR, I'm just arriving from those vinyl Blitz in Copacabana and for my surprise I found a Zimbo Trio with Elizeth Cardoso that I did not know the existence. I will make it next week. Cheers, zeca PS.: Walter Wanderley Batucada is back.

Jim R
Here's the latest video posted at Loronix: Oscar Castro Neves / Aguas de Março (Waters of March) One of the great Brazilian rhythm guitarists, this time accompanying his own vocals. This tune always seems so "simple" on the surface, but check out the harmonies... and the rhythmic tension he creates with the guitar and vocals. Sweet tone, too. I could listen to this guy for hours. Maybe some of you had seen this already on the tube... I haven't paid much attention to those Ramsey Lewis shows (actually they were only aired a couple of times here).
Harold_Z
I just watched it over at Loronix and came here and saw this post. Yeah! It's great.
.:.impossible
What happened to Loronix?Just found this: http://globalgroovers.blogspot.com/2011/11/tribute-to-loronix-and-zecalouro.html As many of you know, Loronix is off the air for more then 2 years now. Untill today nobody knew why and what happened to Zecalouro. I had also failed to get in contact and did not know what was going on. Last week I had the idea of making this tribute and gave it another try to reach him. Due to health matters Zecalouro was forced to stop his once so popular music-blog. I had a brief contact with him. Fortunately he is doing much better now, working as a musician as he once did before. His life, his blog, his decision...http://orfaosdoloronix.wordpress.com/
