GA Russell Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 I see her going clockwise, and I can't make her go counter-clockwise. See for yourself! By the way, I suppose that the analysis is fairly correct for me, but I like to think of myself as logical too. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...281-661,00.html Quote
GA Russell Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 7/4, maybe being right-brained makes me a day late and a dollar short! Quote
7/4 Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Or use titles like Right Brain vs. Left Brain (looks backwards to me!). . Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 I missed this the first time around. I cannot get her to go anything but clockwise. Feet or no feet. Quote
7/4 Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Try backing away from the screen or opening and closing just one eye. Quote
Free For All Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Try backing away from the screen or opening and closing just one eye. .......or take her out for a nice dinner. Quote
RDK Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Try backing away from the screen or opening and closing just one eye. .......or take her out for a nice dinner. Seriously, it's freaky when you get her to change direction. Quote
GA Russell Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 The feet trick worked for me. Then I couldn't get her to go clockwise again. So I scrolled down until she was off the screen. When I scrolled back up she was clockwise again. Quote

I would have certainly described myself as left-brained but engaging your right-brain is very conducive for voice overs, so I wonder if that is why I see her as I do. Quote
ejp626 Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Saw her going clockwise. I'm left-handed which is supposed to mean right-brained, though I believe in lefties some brain functions migrate. Couldn't imagine anything else and got kind of frustrated. But yes focusing only on the feet and I finally saw counter-clockwise. It's not easy but I saw her go both directions about thre times. The best part is the bent foot is different (left or right) depending on which way she is spinning. Quote

I didn't think there was any difference in what she really looked like - or her feet. I thought it was all happening in my mind MG Quote
Shawn Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 When I first went to the site she was going counter-clockwise, as my eyes moved over to read the text I saw her change direction out of the corner of my eye. After looking at it for a couple minutes it goes clockwise more often but it keeps switching back and forth. Quote

Either it is pure optical illusion, or in fact they are intercutting two different images and the brain sees one or the other depending on which eye is dominant. If someone did a video capture and slowed it down that would probably resolve matters. Either way it is pretty cool. Quote

It is an optical illusion and you can see the bent foot as either left or right. And depending on how much depth you give to this leg, it makes it spin either direction. This is a bit too small, but it shows this in principle. Edited May 3, 2008 by ejp626 Quote
Shawn Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 I downloaded the file and played it back in quicktime. Same result when I watched it, back and forth. So it's only a single file. Quote

BruceH Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Clearly she's going counter-clockwise. Sez YOU! But of course. I guess that means I favor the "Left Brain"? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 When I first loaded it she seemed to be switching back and forth. When I concentrated, she only went clockwise and I could not reverse the image. Guess part of my brain died. Quote

jazzbo Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 For me, she swings both ways. When I first open it she's going counterclockwise. If I scan down and watch her feet, she shifts to clockwise. Once she's clockwise, she tends to stay that way. Quote
