Free For All Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Bea Arthur NY Times obit I just heard about her passing and didn't see an existing thread, so... I always liked her, going back to her appearance on All in the Family that created the spin-off Maude. I never was much of a Golden Girls fan. I did recently see her on a Comedy Central roast, can't remember which one.....still very funny (and bawdy). RIP .......that compromisin' enterprisin' anything but tranqulizin' Right On Maude!!! Free For All Posted April 29, 2009 Author Report Posted April 29, 2009 Off topic, but speaking of Maude, did anyone else have a thing for Adrienne Barbeau? I sure did. Quote
ValerieB Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Off topic, but speaking of Maude, did anyone else have a thing for Adrienne Barbeau? I sure did. i'll bet Maude would be furious that this is appearing on the second page of her RIP thread! Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 And Adrienne would be ticked she doesn't have her own thread. Tit for tat. Quote
JSngry Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 There's a theater review in Time ca. 1967-68 that has an "uncensored" photo of a topless Adrienne Barbeau. Time used to publish the occasional T & A in their theater reviews. Very occasionally. As for Bea Arthur, I don't recall ever seeing her topless, in Time or elsewhere. Quote
Free For All Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) i'll bet Maude would be furious that this is appearing on the second page of her RIP thread! I don't think Bea would mind a bit, however. Did you see her on the Comedy Central roast? She was very funny, and quite nasty. Edited April 30, 2009 by Free For All Quote
Dan Gould Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 I recall an infamous roast or some such broadcast in which Sara Silverman said (about someone or other) "I wouldn't f*ck her with Bea Arthur's d*ck." I wish I'd seen that, I think I might have peed my pants. Apparently Bea didn't appreciate it, she stormed out of the club. Quote
ValerieB Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Free for All and Dan Gould just sorta proved my point! Quote

Free For All Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Free for All and Dan Gould just sorta proved my point! Huh? Sorry if I offended you, Valerie. I really didn't intend for my post to be disrespectful. I should just keep my pre-pubescent reminiscences to myself, I guess. That being said, you probably shouldn't click on Sangrey's link. marcello Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Here it is... Comedian Jeffrey Ross today told me the best Bea Arthur story you’re likely to read this week following the news that Arthur, the larger-than-life star of Broadway and TV, died over the weekend: Bea Arthur Story Edited April 30, 2009 by marcello Quote
