I got acceptable offers for both the Peterson (Duos) and Ella (in Hollywood) sets, and seing them I kind of understood why they're priced in such a big league. They're nicely presented, in a 45 single format with booklet and all. I guess that manner of presentation has it's price!

Hip-O sets are $20 per CD on their site, which I think is quite steep, especially if you don't like "modern" masterings - lots of their sets are quite loud and have boosted highs. Pity, because musically some of their sets are worthwhile.

I'm definitely not in favor of the packaging of this series. I do not care for open top cardboard sleeves as I think that the discs will get scuffed. That said, all of them have good liner notes. The Cole only had a couple of alternate takes that were new, otherwise, I already owned all of the music within it.

I have the Ella and Peterson. Removed the CDs from that asinine packaging immediately, stored the boxes away ... and decided never to buy any of these sets again.
