Niko Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Was Gerry Mulligan a junkie? I thought he was just a serious drinker. the end of the Baker/Mulligan Band was that Mulligan came out of prison (not for alcohol) and Baker demanded equal pay claiming (rightly) that he had just won the downbeat readers poll - if that story (from devalk's book) is true it's quite a bit against the legend that baker's drug problems messed it all up... sonnymax Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Yes, Mulligan was addicted to heroin in the '50s, but creating this thread was juvenile and in poor taste. Quote

sonnymax Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Nah, I was operating on the "what the hell is he going to say now" principle. Old habits die hard (with a vengeance!). Quote
JSngry Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Old habits die hard (with a vengeance!). A perfect sentiment for a thread about heroin use! Quote
