Late Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 The RVG sounds wonky to me, but maybe that's the way this session has always sounded. What version do you have, and/or what version do you like? Quote
jazzbo Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 I have the RVG. Sounds non-wonky to me. Quote
brownie Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 I had the Japanese PacificJazz vinyl from the Toshiba EMI Collectors Series in decent sound until the RVG edition came out. It's how I want to hear the album now! Quote
colinmce Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 I have it on the Blue Note box set. Sounds ok to me. Quote
J.A.W. Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 I have the "old" 1988 McMaster CD, Pacific Jazz CDP 7 46850 2; haven't listened to it in ages. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 The RVG also contains an alt. of Gone With the Wind not available elsewhere. Quote
Late Posted October 2, 2011 Author Report Posted October 2, 2011 The RVG also contains an alt. of Gone With the Wind not available elsewhere. Right. Jim Harrod unearthed a 7" EP with a different take of this track. I guess Rudy transferred it from vinyl. Was there an early (80's/90's) Japanese edition of this title on compact disc? ===== Sonic matters aside, it's fine (if somewhat reined in) Brownie. I need to tune out "sound" in favor of "music" more. Quote
BruceH Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 I like the RVG, but also have the music on the old Clifford Brown Mosaic. Quote
