brownie Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 French photographer Jacques Bisceglia died in a Paris hospital today after a long bout with a nerve sclerosis disease. He was 72. Bisceglia photographied the jazz scene for the past 5 decades. He was very involved with the new music developments and was on friendly terms with most of of its musicians. He was also one of the producers for the Byg-Actuel label. His photos adorned the covers of many of the label's releases. Some of his photos can be seen on his blog http://www.bisceglia-jazz-photos.com/liens.8.html#Cat_Musique Bisceglia was a good friend. We were (almost) the same age and ran a sort of parallel life after attending the same high school, being enlisted at the same time in the same army unit during the Algerian war and then attending the same jazz concerts. He also ran a bouquiniste stand just outside my place. He will be missed! Quote
