Hardbopjazz
Well done, Mr. Carter.
Milestones
At first that sounds astonishing. But then...not really. Mr. Carter has been everywhere, and he always adds something to a session. If he only did the stint with Miles and a few trios (like those with Hank Jones and Tommy Flanagan), he would be an immortal. But there is, of course, so much more. Justin V
I have nothing but respect and admiration for Ron Carter. This just goes to prove that no matter how much of Ron Carter's work I have in my collection, there will always be more out there. Congratulations to him. I recall seeing him act as a 'shepherd' for the baritone master Cecil Payne at the Bern Jazz Festival in the late '90s. Payne had very limited vision, but Carter danced attendance on him, showing great care and compassion. 12 minutes ago, Ted O'Reilly said: ...and, a lovely man.
