...I re-read this thread, and clicked the "wayback machine" link to look at some of the old BNBB threads.  A fascinating glimpse into some of our old comments from 23 years ago.  And a whole forum just for the RVG series too!

Well that has to be the case unless the internet pre-dated the implosion date by 23 years.

The Blue Note forum was only around for about 7 years (1996-2003), so this forum has outlasted it by quite a bit.

Had no idea the BNBB was active in 1996 - sounds early but around that time I think I barely had email and was using a friend's WebTV box to access! Must have been a few years before I found my way to Jazz BBs.

I seem to remember late (like December) of 1996 but it may have been later. No matter when it started, it wasn't around for very long. I hung out at various Jazz forums back then and even the AAJ and The Jazz Corner forums held on longer than the Blue Note board.
